Thanks Cass. Simba has cancer in her mouth and her mouth has been bleeding on and off lately making it hard for her to eat. I'll keep the Tiki Cat in mind though. You never know what may help her. :bighug::bighug:
I would definitely keep it in mind, especially if she is willing to lap up the milk to get her meds from the HV. Vines that her mouth discomfort lessens some so she feels ok to eat :bighug:

Simba didn't eat any food before I left for work, but she came and sat beside me was acting more normal. I'm thinking she got full on the milk and hoping she will eat more later.

Furball sure does like her trampoline.

The Tiki Cat velvet mousse looks like and is the consistency of baby food. Very easy to eat. You can also just use baby food as another option, but Tiki Cat would have all the kitty nutrients in it as well. I’m glad the bleeding stops and she at least wants to have some of the rememdies you are trying. Vines to Simba for comfort and a better appetite. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Many thoughts and prayers continuing for sweet Simba and for you, Carla :bighug::bighug: That remedies are kicking in and her body is responding fully :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’m glad the bleeding stopped too and sending vines for that to be ok today and for simba’s appy to resume today. Glad she is still liking her remedies.

The tiki cat velvet mousse is indeed very moussy and ideal. I used to offer it to and add it in azaleas food, too. She liked it.

Have a good day, Carla, and your kitties all, too.
:bighug:

I e-mailed the liver shake recipe to the HV and this is the response I got back.

"I don't think that sounds like a good idea. We recommend blenderizing the following ratio: 1/3 C. raw meat (can be some liver also), 1/4 half & half, chicken stock to make right consistency. Can't imagine that other recipe appealing to a cat with mouth lesions."

I’m glad you checked with your HV.

I’m glad he came up with a nutritional support addition tailored for Simba with nutrition and calories and balance of the muscle meat to organ meat ratio. And bc Simba likes milk, too, the half and half might add just the right amount of extra appeal. Yummy! :bighug:

Sending heaps of appy and feel better vines for your Simba and steady BG for Furball, too.❤️:bighug:

I'm not really clear on what chicken stock is. The vet's recipe is confusing to me. I don't really cook. I think he's saying 1/3 cup of raw meat, 1/4 cup of half and half and chicken stock.

What is chicken stock and how much am I supposed to mix in? Thanks for any help.

Carla, you can get chicken stock at grocery store often on soup aisle ... kind I get comes in a carton not a can . I take what he means ab adding chicken stock is to add a bit at a time to consistency Simba will be able to eat . And I use to cook when still had kids at home but I have “ retired” from it since :):joyful:

I hope Furball settles down on the bouncing soon. She is feeling good despite the bouncing.

Simba was very loving when I got home. Her mouth is not bleeding. She drank some milk, but hasn't eaten anything yet.

@Love-Paula aka Woodsywife The bone broth sounds interesting, but not easy to make since it has to simmer for so long. I'd want to be home the whole time. I wouldn't dare go to work and leave something on the stove like that. Thanks for the suggestion

@carfurby

I did it in the crock pot. I only cooked it 16 hrs on high (couldn't stand the smell any longer). Since I wasn't using the bone I cooked long enough for the marrow to leach out and the bones were hollow. Started in evening and let it cook overnight.

Alternatively, you can purchase commercial broth.

Could be hv means 1/4 c half and half or chicken stock or combination of both (whatever works) ?

If you use premade chicken broth or chicken stock Look for the plain kind ...no added spices or veggies.

Homemade is good too, and like Paula said, easy to make. maybe try a batch during the weekend?

Yay, for simbas mouth not bleeding .Hope her appy resumes tonight ❤️

@Love-Paula aka Woodsywife Thanks Paula. I don't have a crock pot. I may need to just buy some.

Simba wouldn't eat any of her food. I even tried watering it down and smashing it into mush. I gave her some of Furball's food and she ate a good bit of it, but she stopped in the middle because it bothers her mouth, but she did eat. I guess it's the cat being picky thing going on.

So happy to hear Simba may be feeling a bit more herself--nice to think the remedies may be helping her. At least she's getting something in her tummy.

Always happy to hear about Bouncyball, um, I mean Furball.
