Good Afternoon L & L ~

Status Quo with the Bubster. As I type he has his big old lard bottom on my bed and despite picking him up 3 times and relocating him so I can put clean sheets on the bed, he jumps right back on.....:rolleyes:

Forrest U/A came back to quote my vet " boring" nothing remarkable and no infection" So, she still wants an IM consult to see why one value is a bit higher, ( she suspects that it is from raw feedings prior to the test) but because of the perirenal cyst around one kidney, it is usually indicative of renal insufficiency, but nothing is showing in the urinalysis. :confused: It could be two separate issues.

I have decided to see an animal chiropractor tomorrow to see if he was some kind of skeletal issue causing him problems to crotch in the LB. My chiropractor RX it seeing how he had the leg issues right after he passed the hard large poop. He hasn't had an inappropriate pee since 4/8, but I don't know whether he is going in the box at all as he demands to go outside. And I let pee pee head outside when he asks. :p New unscented litter also............

Well I love boring lab results, but at the same time, you’re back to trying to figure out why this is happening in the absence of anything definitive. We are treating Miss Peepee pants as if she has a UTI and starting antibiotics today. I hope the chiro is able to help Mr Peepee Head and I know regardless, Forrest will feel better after seeing one. :bighug:

Yes, boring is good, but then why? I hope you get results with Miss Peepee pants on the AB.
 
Very cool that you are going to take Forrest to see any animal chiropractor. I worked for a chiro for 4 years and saw many people benefit from treatment. My boss turned me onto an animal chiropractor who works mainly on horses. Watching videos of him doing adjustments on animals is pretty incredible! I hope that Forrest is able to find some relief by seeing the animal chiro.
 
I was thinking about Forrest last night while getting to sleep and something you posted stuck out. You said he pee'ed in his carrier on his way for the urinalysis but when they went to take the urine there was plenty left in his bladder... I wonder if he is not able to completely empty his bladder and he feels like he has to pee all the time and then there is an urgency when it gets too full and he can't make it to the LB.

IDK, just throwing it out there.

That is an interesting thought! Is there a test to determine if that could be the case?

IDK if there is one for cats but had a girlfrend that had this issue and that is what made me think of it. She had donated a kidney to her mom and then the incision site herniated which she had to have repaird 2x's and resulted in her bladder sagging and she couldn't empty her bladder (which resulted in uti's and kidney infections). She had another surgery and they "tacked" it back up into position and it resolved her problems. I wonder if a ultra sound would show an issue because they usually do that with the cat on his back or side and maybe the bladder wouldn't appear to be in an abnormal position.

Not sure about your vet, but my vet (here in Florida, the nice one)...put his hand on Luci's abdomen and he could 'feel' that her bladder was empty...he'd wanted to get some urine from her for a ketone test - but said 'her bladder is completely empty'...really? You can tell from putting your hands on her tummy? Guess so...
As for me...when I was in the hospital - too long a story to go into here - they placed an ultrasound on my abdomen to determine if my bladder had anything in it or not (I couldn't pee...so there it is)...they'd cath me based on results of those quick ultrasounds - it wasn't anything like a regular ultrasound...just a quick scan of my lower abdomen - yep - bladder is empty...good news for me...for the moment anyway...

Best with your baby and getting that sorted out...may be he's not emptying his bladder completely - I know for me - it's mighty annoying...and I felt like I had to pee ALL THE TIME... FWIW...:)

That was the red flag with my girlfriend. She constantly felt like she had to pee but would only dribble. This went on for a couple of months and then the infections started. Poor girl didn't get a good nights sleep for about 6 months. Then when the infections started showing up they thought that had been the issue all along and it was another couple of months before they figured it out.

They did dome type of contrast xrays or mri/cscan and saw that her bladder wasn't emptying.
 
Sometimes we wish for an infection; there's such an easy solution!
I think the suggestion by @LizzieInTexas is a good one! The only way I can think of checking that is to have Forrest at the vetty, wait til he pees, and then ultrasound him to see if there is still urine in the bladder.
