Still yellow. If I can brave this awful ice storm I may walk (skate?!?) to the store and get some more insulin this one close to me only stocks the cartridges. How do you use those. I use the vial but I have dropped and smashed one before so cartridges maybe better.
I’d encourage you to get the cartridges. They’re better value and will last almost a year (1500 units total). You use each like a mini vial of 3 mL. Put the needle through the rubber seal at one end. Don’t bother buying the 5 pack of pens if they have those too because you don’t need the pen casing. I always buy cartridges.

I think they come in a five pack but now you mention it I can't remember if the pharmacy said pens or cartridges.

In Canada they often stock both. If I recall the cost is similar. If they only have pens get those. You take the cap off, remove the part where a special pen needle would go (but you aren’t using those) and beneath that you’ll see the grey rubber seal of the Lantus cartridge. You don’t inject any air into a cartridge when you draw a dose because a plunger mechanism inside the cartridge slowly moves up as you take insulin out. You aren’t pulling against a vacuum as you would from a vial.

So rare to get a pic of them together.

Silver threw up tonight. Not usual for him. He's still eating normally and is sitting beside me purring but anything unusual scares me right now. :arghh:
