Not sure if you shouldn’t give any, you need to talk to your vet (I have no experience with thyroid meds in cats). Do you have a copy of his labs? If so maybe post and tag Marje. She would be glad to advise you.

I have labs at home, I had to go to work, and I’m lost lol give what away?

Yes, that thread talks about all the issues my mom's old kitty had. We decided against the vet's advice to lower the dose and spend a week minimum, sometimes longer, at a dose before slowly increasing.

Her thyroid level was above 10 that was a high as the machine would read I think normal was,1.5 to 4.8

I used to feed our cats years back Friskies and other cheaper brands until I saw Authority Cat Food and asked about it at Petsmart. I changed because of the odor of their litter box but gosh never knew all of this stuff. Then it wasn't too long ago I read up on these cheaper foods and that they have alot of what is called Meal Meat which is from Dead Animals and other things being put in the food like by products. After learning of that I changed over to Nulo Grain Free. Now that my Vet wants Candi eating Purina Pro Plan DM Rx Canned Food I noticed alot of ingredients I didn't like in it. I am now wondering is it safe or would I be better off feeding her what I started her on a week ago Nulo Grain Free Canned Food.

I have been feeding my other cats the Cat Chow Naturals for quite sometime and recently they have been throwing it up. I had just bought a brand new bag too but I took it back. Until they get their stuff together and I know it is safe to feed this to them, I will be feeding another brand.

Booger's Mom check the ingredients. They have a bunch of ingredients that isn't good. We have had good results with Nulo Dry Food but now feeding Nulo Canned Food with Candi being a Diabetic. It is also very low in carbs. Along with that she gets some sardines in water and no salt added as well each day.

I've always noticed FF classic cans are inconsistent. One case will be very soupy other cases very dry. Some cases almost chunky and some very smooth. This is with all their flavors and as some have mentioned their turkey giblets especially is sometimes very dry. I've had to return whole cases because they won't eat it only to get another case of the same flavor and they love it .

Now, it includes the Purina Cat Chow dry foods.
I read the FB article. Not enough info was provided since only one instance of a dry food problem was reported to conclude it was Purina problem. The bags of dry food can be damaged/punctured during shipments and that can result in insects entering the bag.

Our Sparky's sugars started spiking recently and I happened to catch this posting. He did vomit once or twice over a 2 week period, but nothing major. NOTHING else has changed in his diet, etc. I'm wondering if this funky food is the cause of his wild blood sugar swings?

I'm pitching the last 4 cans and just checked our new Friskies shipment and it looks good. I hope his sugars start to fall again.

Baby isn’t eating her normal friskies mixed grill & poultry platter. It actually stinks, not like it should! She won’t eat much of anything... Ive purchased all kinds of food to no avail. She has 3 food bowls of wet food right now & won’t eat but a few bites. She’s also had diarrhea off & on but I don’t know if that’s from eating different things or from the first few bad cans of friskies.
Calling the vet to make sure there’s no infections or pancreas problems in the am.
Don’t know what to do, not a fish lover either.

I have been following them on Facebook and it is bad what all Purina is putting into the foods. Ceil I feed Candi Nulo Canned food. It is a bit pricey at 1.79 a can but at least I know it doesn't have anything suspicious in it.

My civvie recently stopped eating the poultry platter (Best by Mar 2020 80831157 L63741841 no color mark), turkey & giblets (Best by Mar 2020 80821157 L54051459 pink mark), and the mixed grill (Best by Mar 2020 80681161 L3363 2049 no color mark) out of the poultry lovers variety pack. He's been eating these for over a year now. I've had some cans with the codes and pink/red mark before that he ate with no issues.
Now he's refusing to eat them. Anyone have issues with matching cans?

I know it doesn't have anything suspicious in it.
How were you able to find out what went into the cans of Candi Nulo Canned food?

Our 3 cats still have not had any issues with the Fancy Feast classics. I always wondered exactly what goes into cat or dog food. Maybe the only way to viably know what our animals eat - is to prep the food ourselves.

I just went to the Fancy Feast pages. It's too bad Friskies has broken links there. One would think that Friskies would want to list the ingredients online like Nulo does. Someone on the forum typed in the Fancy Feast ingredients, 2 years ago -

I guess my 3 kittehs are lucky - we never saw a health issue with them that was food related. And I never saw plastic or similar stuff. I did find a little bug on some grocery salad mix once. I consider that a natural hazard of eating garden goods.

Is everyone aware of these issues with Friskies and Fancy Feast? What is everyone feeding now????? :( :(

Patches is currently in remission with her diabetes, and is prone to crystals in her urine and has had pancreatitis twice in the last 4 yrs.....I HATE HAVING TO SWITCH HER FOOD!!!! I am afraid to give my kitties this stuff now.....none of my guys will eat any of that grain free or natural foods or any of that...i have tried over 2 months time and they refuse. They will not go near raw either.........

I have 2 Maine coon cats and have had problems with both of them constantly throwing up. Their diet has been Friskies Beef in Gravy, Turkey and cheese in gravy, salmon in gravy and turkey and giblets in gravy. On the evening of October 9, 2018 my female let out a loud yowl and threw up. Second time she threw up it was like a brown pudding substance. 2 days went by and she refused to eat acting normal drinking etc. but would not eat. Went to vet and found nothing wrong even had blood work done. After (9) days of refusing to eat the vet started her on rebound. She still refused to eat. The vet gave me a free can of HILLS to try her on. I came home placed some FRISKIES salmon on 1 side and the HILLS on the other. She sniffed the salmon but SHE ATE all of the HILLS and licked the dish clean wanting more. I started feeding her a teaspoon of the Hills every half hour and within 1 day she ate the whole can. Today she comes and asks for her small feedings.

Last evening I searched for any recalls on Friskies and ran across this site. When I read the 1157, 1159, and 1161 #'s I checked the cans I had. LOW and BEHOLD every one of my cans had those #'s, so Walmart here I come tomorrow.

My cat was clearly telling me the FRISKIES was not safe for them to be eating. She would have died before she would eat that FRISKIES. And before anyone asks, NO she is not vomiting after eating and neither is my male cat.

Friskies is pure garbage..period.

Fromm, Health Extensions, WERUVA, Earthborn, Merrick, Fusse Cat so many decent foods. Stay out of the Supermarket pet section. Some FF will pass okay if that is all they will eat, but I only feed the Chicken Feast..period in the Fancy Feast.

Both Friskies and Fancy Feast have had problems for a long time. There's even a Facebook group on it. I only use the chicken pate and beef pate.

I have one civvie who his entire 5 yrs only ate ProPlan beef and carrots. He would not eat anything else. Then I noticed the color and smell changed and he stopped eating it. Purina claims nothing changed. I even sent them pictures of the color change. They still deny it. It took a lot of different foods to find something he would eat. He settled on fancy feast beef and sometimes the chicken.

I scrutinize the food when I open a can. I pull it apart with a fork and go through every bit of it to make sure nothing strange is in it.

I've been feeding Fancy Feast lately (pate) as a supplement to the YA, and even though I don't see anything when I am mixing the food with water and her supplements I sometimes see tiny bits of white things left in the dish after she eats. I've thought it might be bits of bone, but it concerns me enough to look for a different pate or start planning on getting meat/organs from my butcher to make something at home. I know when I bought ground beef in the UK there was sometimes noticeable bits of bone in it as I cooked and I don't like not knowing what this is exactly.

My diabetic kitty didn’t do well at all on Fancy Feast. I now avoid both Fancy Feast and Friskies
