Chloe is NOT fine 63 this morning

Hey, I think like many probably already said this is what this board calls a “bounce”, meaning kitty is seeing the new normal number as too low for her bc she is used to being higher and releasing glucagon to bring her sugars up. As she gets used to being in the normal range again, that should stop.

5 mins don’t matter, don’t worry. Sometimes my stuff varies as much as an hour. That’s reality and life, can’t drive yourself too crazy. Whatever fits best in your lifestyle ! Everyone is doing their best.
 
With such a severe change in her BG levels after eating, I think I will change from 9lives to Fancy Feast pates.
Now I'm starting to worry. She's on an upward trend.

Vets don't like it because they feel it's difficult for the average person; they don't want to add to the overwhelming situation. I also think they don't feel small doses are effective!
 
Chuck has insane food spikes. I think Chloe has big food spikes too so add a bounce into that and you get your crazy spike to 400s. I after with kris, testing again is a good idea to make sure it's not a weird result.

The schedule is to just make sure you'll be available in a certain time frame to do what needs to be done. It doesn't have to be on the same minute every day.

I ask because I sure wasn't before going through this with my own cat, and if one of my clients brought me BG numbers like the ones we're shooting for, I wouldn't have known what to do with them. It's a shift in mindset from what we're taught in school.

Really? You guys didn’t know vets come to this site?? Because when I was referred to this website by the Diabetic Cats organization who was helping me with my rescue, they told me there’s some vets that come here to learn. That’s why I was a little surprised about the way people speak about health professionals on this site in the beginning. There are definitely some amongst us, and ARE open to learn this stuff...

That's wonderful.
I had a superb vet, who moved back to her hometown when she had children, and I sure do miss her. Anyway she was a skilled diagnostician who adored all animals, a top flight surgeon, and always ready to learn.
In 76 years, I had one bad vet, and that was only because he was a loner, and didn't keep up. I do have some favorite vets, but that's normal. And I have had a very few vets make fatal errors. I think we all make some such errors in a lifetime. I know I have.

Anyway, so glad you're here!
 
Please take a look at Chloe's SS. She is at 63 this morning and I don't know if I should give her a full dose or a half. She's eating well.
