Yesterday's condo

That was quite a bounce late yesterday. Hoping she'll level off today and stop with the dramatics. IT was so good to see those green numbers - let's see if she can find her way back with this decreased dosage. Some high greens would be nice for Easter Luci.

Question for the experts - based on Luci's SS can you tell about how long she's taking lately to clear these bounces? And with reduced dose from 2 down to 1.75 - impact of that? Can I leave her home today while we go to sis-in-laws for Easter luncheon? Or should I take her along? Nervous about leaving her for 2-3 hours.

Happy Easter to everyone!

There's no reliable way to predict how long a bounce will last. What it looks like, though, is that after that ugly PMPS, Luci has turned back to a lower AMPS. The bounce may be clearing.

As cats become more accustomed to lower numbers, bounces clear more quickly. That's at least in part, what makes it so hard to know how quickly the bounce will clear.

Keep on sliding down Luci. Get a +2 and if she is lower then it could be an active cycle. What time are you leaving? It it's later in the cycle and depending on what her number is you might be fine to leave her. You'll just have to see how it unfolds.

Remember, we are talking about a cat here. :rolleyes: As Bobbie said, get a +2 and go from there. During what times would you be gone?

Just got a 2+ and a 5+ - we're leaving shortly - her numbers are kinda on the high side today - I'm thinking she'll be okay for the next couple of hours - we're not going far and won't be gone too long - should be back by +8 at the latest.

So here we go...at PM 2+ she's decided to go under the lagoon! What is it with this girl? Does this mean she's having an active cycle and I'm going to be up all night testing her? Just fed her HC when DH saw the 41 and then at 55 fed another round of HC. Would feel better tonight if she weren't this low...DH will be watching her until midnight or so DST - then I'll set my alarm to get up after that to check on her.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

You can try and abort this cycle so you don't have to stay up all night. Luci already made her point! By aborting, you can give her lots of carbs. The downside is it could lead to a bounce.

DH did the best he could to 'walk' her back to a better place by giving her a couple of teaspoons of HC FF 21% tuna w/Cheddar & Gravy at that alarming 41 and then again at 55 and 81; no food at 92 or 122 (at least from looking at his notes from last night - as we write it in all in a notebook at the testing station - so we both know when the last test was, the result and type of food given) - DH won't be up for a while but I trust his bookkeeping :) Luci did make a point last night, but I'm not sure what that point was? Needs more MC foods? Needs another dose reduction? I wish she could talk! This morning I'm planning on our new dose of 1.75 - she seems to be feeling fine this morning.
