we just found of yesterday and start insulin Monday. So worried and scared for Whiskers and for myself. So glad to haves a place to come for support!

Welcome! I’m also new...but her first shot this am was so easy and she didn’t even really appear to know. Now the testing I’m not looking forward to. My vet is having me do shots until Monday- then I take her in, he will test her and he’ll teach me how.

This site is great! I read on it well past midnight last night!

We have all been there. Definitly scary in the beginning but it's not a death sentence and very manageable. They barely feel the shot and testing is easy when you get the hang of it. We are here for moral support and advice.

Good luck Tricia Whiskers is a cutie. I am knew too and quite scared that Kitiara might have been suffering without me knowing! We have now mastered the insuline shots. I am using a flexpen by levemir and found it quie easy. The dreadful part is home checks....have you started yet?
