I will be home for the next two days with the ability to fully monitor the next three cycles. I am planning on pushing the R back up to the next to last scale and see where that goes. Once the depot is filled, I want to back off and see just what the Lev can do.

Once all of that is done, I am thinking that @Sandy and Black Kitty and @Wendy&Neko are right. I really like the idea of having a larger R dose to play with in conjunction with the L. Those large depots are what sort of worry me, but this will give me room to work. He is starting off on a really good number so I am excited about this run. Also, I believe that if he comes in at or around 150 I will forgo the R in favor of the L. Well, at least until I learn what works for him.

But, either way, he is still doing really well. He seems to be feeling great and is still using the bathroom all on his own and that is a very good thing! I have noticed he does a little faster breathing right after eating and I am wondering if the Sheba is upsetting his tummy or if he is getting some upset from the MiraLax and Cisapride. It settles down about 10-15 after eating and no problems the rest of the time...
 
You should know by end of tonight what this L dose can do. The depot will be back. Good to hear you have some time off to monitor and experiment. A saying here is Know Thy Cat. It's so much more important for high dose cats and it would like you are getting a good handle on what Pig needs.

Thank you Wendy. I think that is certainly the hardest part. I am making decisions based more off what I feel is right than what I obsessively overthink is right. Basically, I feel as if I know what I need to do, then I doubt that and overthink. I can tell he is not the most happy when he is under the 200, but I also think a lot of that is to do with getting use to the blues. He got comfortable in the low 200's and with Pig, it seems to take a while for him to adjust to change. However, just the fact that he is using the litter box and actually interacting with the rest of the house is a huge sign to me.

Also, I ordered those Egg Yolk things and am hoping that will help. It would seem that that last bit of constipation that sent me gallivanting all over town in search of enema options was owed to a hairball passing... He finally pushed it out the other day and, of course, I had to look and see why it was so 'thick'. :oops: Turns out it was a sizeable ball of black hair! If that is the case, then I am hoping that the egg thing will help. It is worth a shot, at the very least. I want to get this constipation under control because I am seeing some wild variances in BGs because of it.
 
Neko used to play and be happiest in pink. I could tell she was low pink when she went over to her toy pile. Thankfully that changed to low blues. Keeping an eye on how the cat feels is as important as the numbers.

Oh yes... The overthinking is tough to deal with.. It leads me down some crazy rabbit holes for sure! Especially when the boys are involved. Is this right? Could this help? What happened and why are you eating that?!?! I worry a lot. I worry a lot about the boys. Most everyone thinks that I am a nut job, for sure. But, I see myself as no different than any other parent. I love them and I want the best for them. This includes my worry. :p
 
When you decided that you are insanely in love with dried egg yolk... So much so that you won't let mom even spoon it out of the bag before painting yourself in the warrior style of your egg peoples...

It would seem that the egg is a hit... :woot: But, we are introducing slowly, despite what he thinks should happen.. :smuggrin:

I wanted to ask the Acro gurus.. Has anyone ever noticed or read about the increased growth hormone effecting the nail? I know this sounds silly, but Pig has always been my little Wolverine (like the x-men guy) because he has these ginormous claws. So much so that whenever I would put those silly 'soft-paws' on him at my parents house, I would have to order dog sizes. Because of this, I became a master at the sneak clip and getting them at least dull so that he did not get hung up. However, in the past few months I am finding it almost impossible to keep up with and some on his hind paws are worrying me a bit as they are starting to curl under. I keep them trimmed back and am trying to train that quick to not grow so long, but am finding it very, very difficult. I can't imagine that it is comfortable and I do not want it becoming an issue with walking.
 
Neko didn't have much more than old lady cat thick claws, I trimmed them every couple weeks. But I have heard of other acrocats with big nails that sound like what you are seeing.

Is there really anything that can be done about the larger claws? Do we know of it causing a pain issue, like in them walking?

He is such a goob. He does the same thing with bags of catnip. He doesn't want to roll in it or eat it, he just wants to stick his whole face in the bag and sit as still as possible breathing in the intoxicating smell.. lol

I swear, you have a crystal ball or some predictive powers... :p Actually, I just think you are brilliantly intelligent with a load of invaluable experience. Of course, you called it correctly and it would seem that the depot is, in fact, back! He just his a 160 at the +5 hour so will continue to drop for the remainder of the cycle. I will most likely not give R in the am cycle to see what this Lev can really do! Wonderful call you genius woman, you!

I don't know if TiTi's nails are growing faster, but her 2 front paws have rudimentary nails growing directly under her usual nails. I've never seen anything like it. :confused:
 
During peak Acromegaly for Leo, his claws all got very thick and they stopped shedding. None of his claws in that time period were ever sharp. All the claws became like dog claws. We would trim them to keep them a bit shorter, but they were quite abnormal.

Now, about 16 months after SRT, some of Leo's claws have returned to normal. Not all of them. But he has had some sharp claws in the past 6 months, and they were normal looking.

Leo also got clubbed feet from the Acro. That has never really subsided. I'll post an update to Leo's main thread. He had his top canines removed this week due to root resorption. He's doing well.

Gizmo’s nails started to grow a lot this past summer. Slowed down a few months ago and seem to have started growing quickly again. I always wondered if it was an acro thing.
 
I reviewed Gizmo's history.
- Acro diagnosed in 9/2017
- cabergoline started soon after
- doses ramped up to 9.0 units
- now, on 4/1/2018, Gizmo is down to one drop of insulin/dose

Pretty amazing. And a stellar result that Chubba can be proud of!
