Good Afternoon L & L ~

Bubba gave a nice start today. Thinking I will reduce him to .875 tomorrow so that while I am at the animal hospital on Tuesday afternoon with Forrest he will not swim with the sharks. I know the nets have been mended thanks to Rusty the Lagoon Meister, but I'd rather not worry. Also, I think today he would have hit the 3rd drop below 50 as he hit 61 at +2 and I had to give him a 1/4 can of FF 3% so I could go out for breakfast with my favorite DH. Me has maintained in the 60's so far all day.

Forrest : I'm not going to even say anything, but

and he jumped up on my bed by himself last night which he hasn't done in almost a week. ( he threw me an emotional life line after he showered my kitchen floor with pee last night) . Today started day 2 of AB.

Vines to all Kitties and Beans in need.

:joyful::smuggrin::joyful::smuggrin:.... you made me smile really big with that tale , Bobbie :) I love a heart that is cheered and encouraged by their precious kitty jumping up on the bed :bighug::bighug::bighug:Prayers continuing for Forrest and your momma . We are driving 3 hours ( one way) this week to take my mom for pain shot in her hip . Wish she would move closer but at 95 the possibility of “ bossing” her is long gone

Oh Beth, bless your heart doing that. Your mom is 95!!! Mine is only 90, LOL You'd be surprised at how well they let you boss them. I have to do it with a lot of humor and let her think she is still in control. Stay safe in your travels this coming week.

Beth, do you give Elmo a daily probiotic along with the maintenance dose of SEB?

Hi Bobbie - how is Forrest doing with the LB? What is with that peeing outside the box
Good boy Bubba for being such a good boy while Forrest is having his issues
:bighug::bighug:

Bobbie, I have been toying with the possibility of a probiotic for he and my civvies . I have him on such a fine balance between aging kidneys, hyperthyroid , remission and being 18 that I think long and hard ab adding anything else to the mix . What probiotic do u give the boys at your house ??

I have only given Florastor to Bubba when he had diarrhea. Since Forrest started on the AB last night, I started him on Florastor as well as it is one of the AB that can be given at the same time as the AB where as some others need to be spaced 2 hours from the AB.

I certainly understand your reservations with not wanting to fix something not broken. It is such a balancing act!

Looking good Bubba! :D
Happy to hear that Forrest jumped up on the bed by himself! What's happening Tuesday afternoon at the vetty's?

This morning, I think he used the one I brought up from the basement and put in the powder room. At least all evidence points to him as the one. He hasn't ....I am afraid to say it..............

Forrest is going an hour away to a specialty /emergency hospital for an U/S since his vet found fluid around his one kidney in an x-ray on Thursday. She was taking the x-ay to see how much poop he had still....... Don't you just love when one test opens up a whole another can of worms?? LOL

Starting the vetty/ultrasound for Forrest!

I'm sure you've heard this, but cats with UTI's like to pee everywhere except where they are supposed to. They want you know something is up.
Yes, I have heard that. If the AB that the vet gave him for the alleged toxoplasmosis isn't targeting that, ( because he doesn't have that) at least it could help if he has a UTI from bacteria which is a viable possibility since he had lots of messy diarrhea in his male parts area. LOL.

the peeing out of the box happened after the enema, right?
Yes, it did start after the enema. But, prior to that, he was doing most of his business outside and after the enema, he was grounded indoors so I would know if he eliminated the last bit of poop. So, it's was hard to know if it was behavioral or not....... the picture got a bit cloudy. Forrest has peed in front of me before when I wouldn't let him go outside late at night because I wanted to go to bed and not stay up for him. ( momma can't sleep when her boys are still outside) He is very strong willed. So knowing that about him made the whole scenario a bit obscured. sigh....... Last night after he hosed down my kitchen in pee.......my husband picked him up and took him into the powder room where we had put a LB for him and closed him into the room for a few minutes. This morning he used it! LOL . He's a piece of work.

I see. I kind of have that issue with Rufus now. He was constipated, but now is going outside so not sure if he's going out there or not going. Seems that Forrest is quite the character! At least he appeased you this morning :) I'm the same way with my cats outside. Rufus has never gone too far, but Ozzie has. Now Ozzie has a GPS collar so I know where he is at all times. Still don't like him out after dark, with the coyotes becoming more prevalent, but he LOVES being outside. I can't fall asleep until he's in the house. Good luck and continued prayers for Forrest. Hope all these issues he's got going on all at once can be easily remedied!

We have a lot of fox in the fields behind our house and they will attach cats if they are hunting the same area.

A GPS collar! I should get one when Bubba regains his outdoor privileges again as he goes far! We have 3 acres and our neighbor behind us has 20 so he can really roam and he did. Where did you get the collar?

So, you are like me, can't sleep until the "teenager has returned with the car" !!

Ozzie has this https://www.podtrackers.com/ . He actually has 2 of them. They actually use 2G and 3G cell phone signals to locate, and GPS as backup if the cell signals don't work. Not too expensive, I think it was $150 and then $50 a year for service. Great peace of mind!

Wow on this condo! Many vines for Forrest's vetty appt. on Tuesday.

Yo Deputy Bubba, Surf safe, man! You've gotta set a good example for the kitties in the lagoon.

We use a probiotic: Ultra Renew Life (I think that's the name, I'll have to check the exact name tomorrow). It's a capsule. I give 1/2 capsule a day. No smell, no taste. I started it when Rusty was on an antibiotic and just kept going with it.

Thanks for that info Ella. And where do you get yours?

The name is: Renew Life Extra Care Ultimate Flora Probiotic. (30 Billion live cultures guaranteed. 10 probiotic strains.) Liz and Anne (@Anne & Zener GA ) told me about it. I buy it in the health food store, but I've seen it in the pharmacies also. It's rather expensive, but worth it, in my opinion. I buy the "go pack" no refrigeration required. 30 capsules.

FYI- They have these at Sams Club. 90 for $33 dollars. Haven't tried them yet, but want to.

I'm going to try to get this here in Canada.........I'm not sure if the stuff I bought was causing Davidson diarrhea so I stopped using it the other day, and now he's good. Also, I think it had a taste to it, as neither he or Harley liked their food. If I can't get it here, I'll order it to my Buffalo mailbox. Is 30 capsule enough for both H&D?

If you give each 1/2 capsule a day, it would last for 30 days. I paid about $35 in the health food store, but their prices are always higher. Good luck. It also comes in 50 billion live cultures, but that's more expensive. I think 30 billion is certainly enough!
