This is my 7th cycle at 3.0 IU.

Yesterday was curve day as we all know and turned out flat. Today is 2nd curve day, looking to be flat again.

Question is. Dose increase or decrease? Is this due to him raising is blood sugar or he simply needs more insulin. He had really nice numbers as we've discussed a few days ago, so Emmett is confusing me. How can he have good numbers for a couple of days and then nothing but flatness?

Anyway, I'm unclear what to do. I'm guessing 3.25 IU tonight, but would like some input. Thanks!

It looks like Emmett likes to bounce for a couple of days after you see low numbers. It is frustrating when they bounce on curve days. I'm not sure about an increase since you got the 104 the other morning. It may be a good idea to hold the dose a little longer.

The way you listed his BG readings on 3/22/18 on the SS is confusing. You can stack numbers in the cells so you can get it all in one day. You just have to manually color code the cells. If you look at Furball's SS at PM +2 of 3/19/18 you'll see what I mean.

What are the double AMPS and +1 numbers for on the 22nd? Did you test twice? If so, pick a number and trash the other and make it one row again. It's confusing and looks like you skipped a shot that evening, but I know you didn't.

I still think you have room for an increase. Yes, he's bouncing, but not nearly enough blue (and no green) on the SS.

Okay. I'm like 50/50 what to do (increase or keep). I've read so much about kitteh making glucose if he goes to low (or if in BG level he hasn't seen in a while...I was just wondering if that's the case). But you're correct...I've only ever seen 2 greens.

Deleted the double tests on the 22nd. Just kept the actual pre-dose test and one of the +1's.

Also, just tested again. 21.6/389

So increase I guess. Very challenging kitteh's.

3.25 IU?

Hey Rob, It's a tough call since you don't know how low he went during the AM cycle on 3/22. But there is room for an increase. If you increased tonight by the time Monday morning rolls along he'll be on cycle 4 of the increase and the new depot should be full. Could you grab a +2 before leaving Monday to see how the cycle might go?

Nope. Can’t get a +2 or I won’t be home to do his evening dose.

Well. This must be a bounce, right? At this dose he should be lower. Would it hurt his progress that much to stay at this dose for a couple more cycles or would it actually make more sense to do the increase now to 3.25 iu, while I can be home and watch him the rest of the weekend?

I think it makes sense for the increase now so you can monitor him the rest of the weekend.

Sorry I was late to the party. I might have held one more cycle before increasing. I think he needed the increase, but I like to wait six cycles after a possible low (night of the 21st) to make sure he's not clearing a bounce on the cycle that you increase. Tonight is that sixth cycle. A bounce clearing cycle can sometimes have a little extra momentum to it, and the increase on top can make it even more active. I'm a bit more cautious when the timing happens such that it's a night cycle or a day you can't monitor. Looks like he'll be going down tonight, but not too fast so it shouldn't be too bad after all.

Good luck with the increase.
