I just can't figure out what is going on. He acts hungry (even w/o the Mirtz). He will eat a bit, lick a bit and leave and a few min go by and he returns and does the same thing. He is on Cerenia and Ondan and Canna with a 1/2 mirtz on top.

It is like he is still nauseated. Could he still be even with the Cerenia and Ondan?

Could it be stomach acid? Can I add Pepcid (or other) to this mix as well? Should I?

Any other suggestions? The poor boy is miserable. He seems to really want to eat (and is but very, very slowly).

That is exactly the way my Gizmo was acting. He wanted to eat and you could tell he was hungry, but would only lick or a few bites and walk away. Only to return and start the whole process over again. I wish I knew what the solution was to help you, but Gizmo just started eating again (although I did give him mirtz a day or two ago).

Sending feel better and appy vines for Gizmo! :bighug:

How often and how much of Ondan are you giving?
Ondan 1/2 4mg tab (2mg) - 2x/day (AM/PM).

Cerenia 4-6mg 1x/day.

Mirtz - 1/2-7.5mg tab (3.75mg) this morning - first time given in over a week.

1/2 capsule Canna Companion x-strength 2x/day (AM/PM)

Torbugesic Oral (RX) 0.2mL "as-needed" but have been giving 2x/day (AM/PM) for the past couple of days.

Poor Gizmo! I am not sure about the pepsid with the other meds. Hopefully someone who knows will weigh in. :bighug:

I'm sure you have tried everything: , baby food, FF, YA what ever he will eat.

I would suspect stomach acid. The acid can be roiled up with the licking, and then of course, Gizmo stops eating. Pepcid certainly helped my CKD cats. I think you might want to refer to Tanya's page for the amount and type of Pepcid. There are 2 versions of Pepcid, and one is really bad for kitties.

Pepcid AC worked for Yum's gag vomiting last September, but I switched to SEB after reading Tanya's pages. The critical care vet recommended it again.
Yum kind of did what you described just now. It was because she had bad tasting foam in her mouth from being dosed with liquid enrofloxacin. Do any of Gizmo's meds leave a bad taste in his mouth?

I was told Ondan can be given up to 3x a day. Maybe that's what Gizmo needs.
Not sure how I could swing that with working full time. I can't go home during lunch unless it is an absolute emergency (too far).

Do any of Gizmo's meds leave a bad taste in his mouth?
I use gel-caps for all his meds (except for the liquid pain meds).

I might try MMR tonight and wait on the Ondan and BP meds until the +2 test.

Any chance of teeth issues or mouth ulcers or anything like that making it painful to eat? I know his phosphorous has come down recently, but just for example, high phosphorous can cause mouth ulcers.
