Probiotics & SEB

Hi all-

Apologies as I feel I asked this before, or I read where someone asked this before. Is it ok to give both probiotics and SEB? I'm pretty sure I read that you can, but not at the same time.

Also, what is the dosing for probiotics? There are so many kinds out there. Half capsule per day for almost 22# cat?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is safe to give them together. The only restriction is that no oral meds should be given within two hours of SEB, as the SEB may inhibit absorption of the oral meds.

For what I know it could be from 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon daily but not all cats need it daily, you will have to do some testing to see how he reacts and try to separate it from any other med or supplement at least for an hour because it may inhibit their absorption

Thanks! The hard part is he doesn't get diarrhea, he has constipation issues. Just so many different supplements and I don't know which to give and what would be best for him.

I gave 1/8 tsp 2x daily; I mixed it in with food and 2 tbsp. added water. I gave it for diarrhea.

SEB as odd as it may seem could help both with the constipation and the diarrhea

Pumpkin puree (the pure stuff, not the pie filling!) can help with both, too.
