Welcome! :) You've come to a great place for help and support. Post all your questions on the main health forum. Let us know over there:
  • how old Maggot is
  • what insulin you'll be using
  • what he eats
  • whether you'll be testing his blood glucose at home
  • if so, what glucose meter you have
  • any other health issues or meds he has.

Thank you for the welcome everyone , soon as i know about everything i will post details , all still a bit of a blur getting my head around it all and how to learn everyhting that needs to be learnt :/

it's definitely overwhelming at first. I assure you it gets easier, it's treatable, and not a death sentence. We've got your back. :)

Welcome! I have to ask...Maggot?
Now thats a question i get asked alot lol , around 11 years ago i got a phone call at work from my partner telling me that she woke up to find her knicker drawer "snoring " !
She opened the it and found this black and white bag of bones in there asleep , at which point he rushed off and ran out of the cat flap we had . Two nights later it sounded like someone was downstairs , could hear stuff getting knocked over etc , i ran down and there is the black and white cat again , this went on for around 2 months , in the end we gave up and let him stay , fed him gave him a bed etc . 1 day theres a knock at the door , neighbours from 2 doors up the road come to collect a parcel , i open the door , he sees the cat and says oh i wonder were he had gone , he went missing after we got all the dogs ! , promptly said you can have him , his name is Maggot . Transpires he was the runt of the litter and looked like a Maggot when he was born ,we just left it at that , always a good talking point . He did weigh 14 pounds but has lost around 2-3 pounds with what we now is his diabetes :)
