Yesterday, I was petting my Maddie and felt a lump on her belly. I immediately thought mammary cancer. I took her to the vet and they expressed clear fluid from her nipples. The vet said this was the weirdest thing and she has never seen anything like it. Surgery is scheduled for Monday to remove these masses but I am just curious if anyone else has encountered this? The masses will be biopsied so eventually I will have an answer. I have attached a picture. Oh and I should add she has been in diabetic remission for a year and a half now. Thanks!

I didn’t see this with my mammary cancer cat. But.. Her tumor was on the side of her nipples in the tract. I’m just glad that she’s having surgery because my vet waited too long saying it was a fatty tumor & traveled to her lymph glands. She was almost 18 & I had to put her down last August. Good luck & I’ll say a prayer that it’s all begnign!
Switched vets of course!

Thank you so much! they are removing the chain hopefully. They are removing as much as they can with still being able to close it back up. They have just never seen clear fluid like this before. Usually it's blood/pus.

I’m glad they’re removing the whole tract/chain! I guess it could just be that it hadn’t crossed into the blood barrier but that’s uncommon. Best to get it all out since it sounds early on!! Lizzie’s ruptured & she had to be done due to possible infection. I didn’t want her to suffer of course! Your kit should be fine & they will check her bg too I bet. Just t be safe! Pain meds to take home I hope too. :cat: Glad for you that she’s in remission. Sarah & Maddie,
Again blessings on Monday from Indiana!

Thank you! Yes she will be getting lots of special care. She will get a pain shot and sent home with pain meds. I'll be so relieved once it is gone :)
