Hopefully you can get the transdermal gel today and it helps Simba. I think all cat meds should be made this way :) It's good that she's still eating! Sending loads of vines and prayers :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
It's not looking good that I'll get the transdermal today. My vet had not called it in yet when I called first thing this morning. The vet is supposed to call me when they do and I haven't received a call yet. I found out the pharmacy is not open on Saturday or Sunday. I probably won't be able to get it until Monday since the vet is dragging their feet. It is annoying because I specifically told them the pharmacy is closed on the weekends and I need it called in as soon as possible so I have time to get it today.
 
Carla is there no way to go by and pick up Rx at vet and take to pharmacy yourself during lunch break ??? Praying that somehow someway you can get it today !!!!
 
I hope you can get that gel today. Did the vet say why he is reluctant to provide the Rx? Perhaps you could get the pharmacy to call the vet's office and remind them that the pharmacy is closed on weekends?

I hope you can work with your vet and figure out a way to get it today. I hope they get on the ball, there's no reason Simba should have to go the weekend without some pain management. :bighug:

It's already after lunch time here. I don't have a long enough lunch to do that. It's all too far away. As it is, I have to go out of my way to get to the compounding pharmacy and they close at 6PM. They are only open from 9AM to 6PM Monday through Friday. It's not ideal, but it's the only compounding pharmacy in the area.

I think the vet is just not getting the message. I can stress the urgency to the staff, but there is no guarantee the vet gets notified right away.

If you have time after work, and if they are still open, maybe you can pick up the prescription in person. What a drag to run into all of these snags (pun intended?)

Furball was happy & purry this morning. I hope she comes back down today.

I am planning to call the compounding pharmacy from work this morning to see if the vet called in the prescription for compounding the bupe into a transdermal gel for Simba. Her mouth is bothering her more and more, but at least she is still eating.

I hope Furball comes back down this weekend and shows me what she is doing on this dose. If I don't see green, I'll increase.

My mom lives near the compounding pharmacy and was able to pick up Simba's prescription for me. I gave her the first dose a little while ago. I'll have the weekend to see if she has any reactions to it. Thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes.
 
Prayers for sweet Furball to come down without an increase, Carla , and that the gel works well for dear Simba :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
Glad all worked out for Simba’s compounded pain med. drives me nuts when vets/vet offices drop the ball and hence add to worry and stresses. I hope the med helps.
