Weird morning. She wouldn't let DH give shot. Might be some making up between the 2. I will try and reason with her. Lol lol lol good luck right? Sore looks bigger, might just be me. Treating with warm water and neo. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it. Not licking it. Not limping. Head bumps and scritches.

I hope things settle down with Phoebe and DH. You could try mixing epsom salt in warm water and soaking her paw for 5 minutes at a time. I hope the sore heals soon. Sending prayers.

Hope Phoebe calms down a bit-- poor DH, getting the cold shoulder! After all he's done to help with her care!

Hopefully the sore is no big deal and heals quickly. I can't imagine what it could be...

I had to do it with a cat that had an ingrown nail removed. I had to sit with her petting her the whole time and keep her from moving. It wasn't too bad.

Yes, an epsom salt (plain not scented) soak is doable! A few months ago civie Azalea had a swollen dew claw (idk how or why that happened) but it was quite painful to her. My vet suggested a dilute epsom salt soak. Azalea didn’t go for the soak paw in a pan idea so I wet washcloth in warm epsom salt solution, dabbed the area and wrapped the wash cloth around that area, and repeated several times. After the last repeat, I rinsed cloth in warm water and did a final wipe down of that area. Did that process once daily til the swelling/inflammation went down.

There’s also a veterinary ointment called Animax that is similar to otc anti bacterial ointments (neomycin etc) but animax also includes an anti fungal component.

If you think the spot is getting bigger, maybe it’s lancing itself or maybe something else going on and your vet should take a look at it, even if it doesn’t seem to be bothering her. Maybe you can email him the photos first and see what h/she thinks?
