During this trial, do not feed. That way, if you happen to get a higher than normal BG, then we would recommend you test again 3 hours after Freckles has had some to eat to see if the pancreas has brought down the BG.
We'll only use dry in an emergency. I'm sure we can get a neighbor to come feed the few times we're gone. I know you want what's best for Freckles.

When Cinco went into remission, at first I kept him on wet, but the others still snacked on dry and I got less and less careful about keeping it away from him. Eventually, I gave up trying. Guess what happened? He lost remission (there were other factors, too, but we didn't find that out until later).
So don't do what I did! Dry food is bad for all cats, but especially for diabetics. If you haven't already checked out http://catinfo.org/, I recommend you do so. Dr. Lisa Pierson (who has been known to visit this site) explains why dry is bad.
