AMBG 83

Is it still important to give her no food for at least 2 hours before testing, or since I'm not shooting, does that not matter any more?
During this trial, do not feed. That way, if you happen to get a higher than normal BG, then we would recommend you test again 3 hours after Freckles has had some to eat to see if the pancreas has brought down the BG.

Posted on yesterday’s but I’ll post here too. Happy Day One!

Here is the link to your post from yesterday, where Sandy posted the trial instructions. Part of the instructions are to feed several small meals throughout the day. In that post, you also asked about low carb dry food. I would avoid dry at all costs if possible. You've done the hard work to convert Frcckles to wet food. Manufacturers can change their process/ingredients. Dry food just isn't good for cats at all, especially our older cats. We've seen far too many cats come back because their beans thought a little dry wouldn't hurt.

Good luck with day 1 of the trial! Very exciting.:D

Guilty! When Cinco went into remission, at first I kept him on wet, but the others still snacked on dry and I got less and less careful about keeping it away from him. Eventually, I gave up trying. Guess what happened? He lost remission (there were other factors, too, but we didn't find that out until later).:banghead::facepalm: So don't do what I did! Dry food is bad for all cats, but especially for diabetics. If you haven't already checked out http://catinfo.org/, I recommend you do so. Dr. Lisa Pierson (who has been known to visit this site) explains why dry is bad.

Meanwhile...
