Rusty had a good night, but ate only half of his nighttime fuds. He doesn’t have any energy this morning and no appetite. I wonder if the pred is affecting him. We gave the transdermal again this morning, but I’m considering stopping it with this dose until we can get home and talk to the vet. It shouldn’t have had time yet to edtablish itself.

We are watching him. More later.

I don’t think it would harm him, as you say, this early in the course of treatment, if you feel it’s making him worse.

I’m praying that he feels better and that his appetite picks up this afternoon.
Thanks, Linda. I wiped his ear in the hopes that some of it hadn’t absorbed yet. He’s sleeping at the moment.

Judy’s (Boomer) Allen had a similar reaction to Pred, do that could be it. I agree -talking to vetty before continuing is a good idea. Maybe the depo is the better choice for him. Vines and prayers...

Good Morning Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

I am sorry I have missed so many of your posts, life has just gotten in the way, leaving me with little time for the Board. I am sorry Rusty is having problems. Sounds like he was fighting off some sort of infection, and I am glad the covenia helped. I know little of the transdermal pred... Vanessa is on liquid, for her lymphoma, and we have not had that kind of reaction, it actually quite the opposite. Wish I could help more... I would think the pred hasn't had time to establish itself, but maybe the other one is the better choice for him. Best to consult with your vet? Much luck and lots of good wishes for you, and Rusty! Be well, Rusty, I am keeping you in my thoughts.

I hope all is well with you and Edward, and that winter isn't has harsh as it sounds like it is, judging from the weather reports of your area that we hear here. Our January has been on the mild, and very wet, side. Temps of late are at 50, which is crazy for January.... Rains daily, been a very wet month. :eek::rolleyes: Kitties her are doing well. Vanessa continues to handle her protocol/meds well for her lymphoma. Weight is more or less stable, so that is good. last BW done showed to real issues with her Chem panel, or renal panel. We are grateful for that. Catio is still used alot, even on nasty weather days. Silly cats are out in it, even on high wind days, and heavy rains... ;) Nicholas & William are great, getting over a minor cold, but other than that,m are well.School is good for them both, they love it. We still do as many adventures as we can, even if the weather throws us a curve ball. They still love the pool, so we are there often. DH continues to do well. I hike when I can, but it is mostly close to home. the snow is plentiful in the mountains, as is the ice and avalanches, so we stay closer to home. I can hardly wait for spring so I can explore more!

Take care, stay warm! And Rusty, vines and positive thoughts for you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Allen got very weak...not tired...but weak and his hind legs were buckling. The pred did make him hungry though. I'm not sure how much Rusty has had but when we took Allen off of it we had to do it gradually over a few days.

Hi, just stopping by for a visit - working on a DCIN transport in your neck of the woods and wondered if you might have some friends on route that could help -- Ausable Chasm to Pottersville is the last leg that we need to fill. Hope Rusty is feeling better soon!

Hi Phoebe,
I can do this leg of the trsnsport, but I’m not sure if I can do it on the 10th, which looks like the day you are aiming for. @Linda and Bear Man will be visiting us that weekend (Ice Carnival). Let me get in touch with Linda and see if she would like to do a transport and miss the woodsman exhibit but still be back in time for the parade. Otherwise I could do the Ausable Chasm to Pottersville lap on Feb. 12, 14, or 15.

Rusty is feeling better this afternoon. We are in NY City, returning home on Tuesday.

I answered your email, Ella. I would be fine with doing the transport!
