Yum's IAA just came back as 4% which is negative. Reference value is <=20%

Her IGF-1 as I reported earlier is 417 nmol/L, which is high and indicative of acromegaly. Referent values are 12-92.

So her IAA means I shouldn't be aggressive?

Thank goodness for no IAA. :bighug: One less thing to worry about.

There are degrees of aggressive. You still want to take on the resistance, but the somewhat good news is that now you are just fighting the tumour instead of the antibodies as well. I would keep on as you have been with dosing, increasing by 1 unit at a time with the Lantus at this point in time. Nice to see she finally getting lower pinks in there.

Yay for that good news! :bighug:

I’m liking the new pink outfits on you Yum, red and black are such serious colors. :cat:

I have no idea what I am doing with R, besides being careful. Not sure if I am getting benefit from getting up early to shoot the R an hour before the L.
I don't see how people build scale tables since sometimes I get a response (target is supposed to be 100?) from a certain dose and other times I don't. There are so many competing trends going on at once. I seem to need a bigger dose now than when we started to see movement. Maybe I am trying to nip the overnight bounces to black in the bud with the morning R. I suppose patterns will emerge. I don't see the patterns on the spreadsheets of other cats.

One option for you is to keep the R in the fridge for a while and go to Lantus increases every 4 cycles until you see yellow. And I don't mean 299 Yum! Maybe do a couple rounds of 4 cycle increases, then take that break that Jill talked about and go back to 6 cycles. Unless of course you see that yellow sooner.

It is possible the R scale changes over time. If you look at Black Kitty's SS, Sandy had different R scales at different periods of time. Neko's R scale on 7 units of Lev was different than the R scale when she was below 1 unit. And lots of time you won't see a response to R. Or it could be that what you are doing with R is stopping/slowing the rise from a bounce. Which is a good thing. If sometimes R will give you a drop of 100 points, then stay with that R dose.

Well, she gave me a yellow 269 at AMPS+11. I didn't want to push her down any further with a big R but I didn't want to stop it cold turkey so I gave her .25R. She has dropped 400 points in 12 hours. If she bounces into black by early evening and continues up, maybe I should give her .5R mid cycle to try and damp it down.
I think I might do the 4 cycles you mention at 12units without R next increase, starting tomorrow night.

Now that she has given you a solid yellow, I would NOT increase after four cycles. Stick with six cycle increases. That yellow is a good sign. :)

Good news that the IAA is neg. Diabetes and Acro is enough to worry about. :bighug:

Nice to get that yellow. Keep on sliding down Yum!

You don't want to give R on a bounce breaking cycle. Today was the sixth cycle after the last yellow. I am glad you only gave a little R, though none might have been safer. I never gave R under 250, unless I knew Neko was on her way up.

I was going to post earlier that I had probably given her a shot into a breaking bounce, but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to point out my error.
I also didn't really understand what would make it a bounce breaking cycle. I was looking at shorter period bounces. I didn't think to go all the way back to the previous yellow. 6 cycles is the magic number for a long period bounce?

Bounces can take six cycles to resolve, especially for kitties who have been in higher numbers for a while. Fortunately looks like it wasn't a problem tonight. However, the 0.75 units R this morning might have been a bit much as she went down more than 100 points.
