Question for you all. Right now when Cocoa wants a snack I am either giving him boiled chicken or freeze dried turkey or chicken. Are these good options does he need something with some carbs? What are some good snack ideas for the diabetic cat?

I'm a newbie, but freeze dried chicken is what I've been giving. FWIW, I've read here and elsewhere that it is a great option. My girl absolutely loves it too--so total bonus!

My little guy loves it as well he also loves boiled chicken breast. I make the chicken on the weekend and put it in the fridge and give him some all week.

This is the freeze dried brand I use. https://www.amazon.com/PureBites-Chicken-Breast-Cats-1-09oz/dp/B007MECZUA/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

Those are great options and no carb. I would bake the chicken instead of boiling it as some nutrients are lost by boiling I recently learned.

Same one I'm using!! So funny.
I'm not sure about your question about having a snack with carbs instead. I see some recommend having something high carb around in case of hypo, but haven't seen any recommendation to give on a regular basis. Maybe very rarely as an extra special one? But I would wait to hear from others :)

Same here from what I had read cats really should just eat meat and very little carbs. I have fancy feast gravy lovers for emergencies cross my fingers I never need it.
