We did a curve on Pearl on Saturday. She is on Lantus. Her AMPS was 127 she got .05 insulin. She had no appetite. At +4 she was 81. At +8 she was at 161. She ate quite a bit at this point. At +12 she was 106 and got .05 insulin. She is on Friskies Pata and free feeds. How do these numbers look?

Do you have a spreadsheet? Do you actually mean a half of 1 unit or 0.5 unit?

We are only giving 1 unit per day. She started at 2. We have been giving her 1/2 and unit 2x per day as her numbers have been good. I have a spread sheet but I haven't uploaded it. We work and can't test in the mornings only on the weekends.

She is getting 1 unit per day. 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm.

You really should not give the shot with a test first. Insulin needs change often and giving the shot without testing it’s a safe number to shoot is not good. I work full time and I’m out the house 12 hrs a day but I still get up early enough to ensure a preshot test.

Preshot sat the very least are necessary to make sure it’s safe to shoot, especially since you are gone all day. Just takes a few minutes. On Saturday are you sure no food was eaten at least two hours before preshot?
