And so it begins again! Lol... Looking forward to today. Pig had a great night last night. He was walking all over the bed trying to wake me. Regardless of his higher numbers, he is still feeling much better! That makes me happy!

I've been looking at the Pigs ss and thinking about some fine tuning on the R side.

Next time you see a PS over 350, consider a trial of .75uR (provided you can be around to monitor and have enough supplies and food).
Also, consider changing the range for using .5uR to start at 275.

New R scale would look like this:
PS > 350 - use .75uR
PS 275-349 - use .5uR

What do you think?

I absolutely agree with you. I am off until four tomorrow, so now is a good time to try it out. I have a very large and prepared hypo kit. I am ready to five this a try. I have a feeling that this morning's ps will be >350.

Yes, @Sandy and Black Kitty I do think that you are right. I think it is about time and I have a suspicion that this morning's amps will be >350. So, perfect time to run a test! I will be at home all day and do not go to work until tomorrow at 4:00... That would be +4.5 on the cycle, so pending ps numbers, we may be able to get in 3 solid runs with it. He will be due an L increase soon as well. I will start to use the current R scale you provided. I think you are correct in it.

Hmm... well I do not know what happened there. Well, you can tell I am double timing this. Working from my phone and computer. It is a busy morning.

Has Pig been tested for IAA?
No... It was supposed to be done at the same time as the Acro, but the order never got sent. :banghead: By the time I got it, it was to late and the blood was to old. I haven't been able to get him back on to be tested For it, because his vet is 2 hours away.... Its hard to get there and its a lot of stress for the guy...

Ha ha ha ha!! I could hear Pig PEE!!! Lol... Trust me, this is a big thing! I increased his cisapride dosage by a marginal hair and have added more Mira Lax... He has been cleaning out nicely and has a very healthy urine flow! This is tremendous!

Yesterday I wrote you that I mixed Yum's supplements into her refrigerated or frozen portions. Actually, when I froze the portions for the sitter/vet over the holidays, I measured the supplements out into little square packets of parchment paper to be added at feeding time. Most supplements probably freeze or refrigerate okay in the food, but you never know. I am thinking I may switch back to adding everything right when I do the feeding.

That's really awful that your vet is 2 hours away.

Yes, I do believe that this is how I will do it as well. I am toying with the ordering process as I plan on making a very large order. The reason for this is because with onlynaturalpet.com, when you sign up and make your first order, the give you 15% off and FREE shipping!! Naturally, I plan on ordering quite a bit if they are going to pay for it to be shipped! They do still require the 14.95 frozen ship charge, but that pales in comparison to the $50.00 charge for other sites. I was thinking of ordering 2 24oz lamb, 2 24oz beef, and 1 24oz chicken. This would be a trial to see how he does. I believe, per my calculations, that it should last around a month if that was all that I was feeding. Entirely worth it considering my Chewy order is typically $85.00 a week!!!

I know... That is the awful part of living in such an isolated place. There are vets that are about 30 minutes away, but the one literally told me that all that was wrong with Pig was arthritis (even that he was not sure on) and sent me home with onsior for pain... That is it. I think I poured $600 into his practice, but not again.... My vet, while new to acromegaly, is well versed in many areas. She is worth the trip. However, it does make it hard, especially considering I gave up a car to pay for Pig's medical costs. We make it work, though. It is just a challenge, but I do not back down easily. Especially when it involves the kitties!! These two boys are my heart!

Well, Pig is not really down for any R trials tonight... Coming in with a pmps of 336. He never really dipped at all today, but ran about steady from am - pm. I am hoping for a bit more movement tonight. With that being said, however, he had a tremendous appetite today and I am experimenting with a lot of little meals throughout the day to see if this helps his digestion and the after meal sluggys...

As an important note... I learned today that more small meals should not equate to MORE food in general... His appetite has been insatiable as of late, but he still gets the sluggy feelings no matter how much he eats. Lesson learned. Tomorrow, I think, we will resume our normal schedule as that seemed to be working well. About 2oz with shots, and two separate feedings of about 1-1.5 oz in between, possible spread into 3 meals. Today, man, he ate ALL day...

The polyphagia is tough to deal with emotionally. I measure out 6 oz (198kcal) of food for Yum to eat over 12 hours. I dole it out after every test and shot. Her sister had polyphagia too. I didn't understand and I just put her on a diet. I wonder if it will go away when her BG is controlled or if it is just part of the acromegaly.

You could cheat and have a friend order a small test batch with the 15% discount then make your own big order with the 15% discount.
