Just started Lantus today. We have had quite a ride: So here goes: AMPS 261 given .25 Lantus, +2 117, +4 47, (Fed 1/3/ FF) +5 49, (fed 1/3 FF) +6 55(fed 1/3 FF), +7 57, (fed 1/3 Gravy lovers FF) +9, 90, PMPS 120. I'm not going to give anything. SS up to date. I would appreciate any help. Thank you. I was advised to decrease dose to 0.1. Thanks again.

Congratulations on the dose reduction. I think Rocky will even out a lot on Lantus. Can you do another curve tomorrow?
Good luck to Rocky and you.
I cannot, I have to be away from home from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. I can on Sunday. I did not give him the pm shot because his number was 120. Any advise? Thanks so much.

He was due for the pm shot at 8, so I guess that means I'm stalled.
depends. Can you shoot and stay on schedule by moving back in 15 minute increments? If not, it's ok to skip, just anticipate the higher numbers (which will likely have bounce influencer anyway). What would you and Rocky like to do?

Welcome to the Lantus/Lev board.

It's not all that unusual for some cats to have a marked response to a change in insulin. It looks like Rocky was doing OK on Novolin but wasn't getting enough duration. That's not uncommon -- it's a shorter acting insulin which is why Rocky's numbers were so much higher at pre-shot times.

You did a great job at steering Rocky's numbers. Sleep well tonight.

Thank you:)

I’m so sorry, Karen, that I missed you. I meant to come back and ask what time you shoot and I got my head into something else and forgot. Very bad on me.

Chances are with a 120, you probably would have wanted to skip anyway since you have no Lantus data yet and that would be a fairly low in ber to shoot.

Tomorrow will be another day. I would suggest you keep posting here.

One thing that will help is a subject line that gets attention such as 1/26 Stalling at PMPS, need help. I think the subject line just didn’t catch anyone’s eye. We have a lot of new members who might have been hesitant to respond to what looks like might have been a question on dosing.

A lesson for all of us. Sleep well and I hope he doesn’t go too high. Good luck with the new dose.

Thank you Marje, I will start at the new does tomorrow at 8. Many, many, many thanks.
