Hello. My name is Brittany and my cat Tigger was diagnosed with diabetes in December 2017.
He is around 13.5 years old. I’m guessing, because he was adopted, and my vet estimated him to be about 1 year old when he found us.
He is currently on Lantus 1.5U in the morning and 1.0U in the evening. I just recently changed his diet again. I was told to feed him wet food, but I never knew wet food could be high carb as well! I finally got him on a low carb wet food diet, and I hope it makes a difference.
 
Welcome Brittany and Tigger - from Jeff (and Leo and Little Dude). It sounds like you are starting off in the right direction with the treatment for Tigger.

There are many wet foods that are low carb, and decent protein. Many on the forum, including me use Fancy Feast Classics for our kittehs. It is readily available and fairly inexpensive. Plus our cats like all the different flavors.

Oh my gosh, your tabby looks just like my Tigger! And thanks for the advice. I recently bought a bunch of low carb Friskies since that’s the brand he has always eaten. But he did not like the flavor I chose tonight, so I may need to give Fancy Feast a shot soon!
