@Marje and Gracie I checked this twice - 286 and again at 259. I'm afraid to give him 4 units. What should I do?
Definitely will be testing tonight. Anything over 200? Hold the dose? Good. In the past I've reduced the dose when getting a low glucose reading, only to have the glucose go way up. Bad idea, right? Thanks for your input! Can you get any tests in tonight? Typically we tell btrand new people you can shoot anything over 200. When cats start lower, they don't drop as much and Lantus gives flatter cycles.
A cat needs however much insulin they need. Neko needed higher doses at times, but I didn't change my strategy on what to shoot whether she was at 7 units or 0.5 units. We decide based on how low the dose takes the cat. A +2 test might be a good one tonight. A lower +2 might mean more action tonight.

Above all, love the progress with a yellow preshot.![]()
You don’t need Karo unless they’re below 50. I think you’re okay. Nice yellow preshot!I do, I do love the progress. Will be doing a +2. If it is lower, then a +4 or +3? And if he continues to drop, how low do you go before you run for the Karo? (asking just in case)
