I've been a lurker on the FDMB for quite a few years, occasionally checking when I needed a little advice, but never joining till now. But those reasons can go in the appropriate thread...

The critter in the avatar is Lestat. He's coming up on 16 years old, and has been diabetic for about 7 years. He's on Lantus Glargine, and has needed doses as high as 5 units (in the beginning) to as low as .5, and recently seems to have settled around 2 units.
