Hello!
I would like to purchase some dry cat food to give my diabetic kitty a few kibbles as a treat once in a while, and to feed my non-diabetic kitty along with his wet food. I am looking at Wellness Core and Instinct Raw Boost.
Does anyone know which of these would be better to use or have any opinions on these foods? I don't really know what to look for besides high protein low carb, and I'm not able to find the carb % online for these two.

You can buy freeze dried meat or fish treats in most pet stores. One common brand is "Pure Bites". Many people buy the dog version (larger chunks) and break then up. The dog bags are better value. These freeze dried treats have zero carbs.
 
i think both of those brands are too high in carbs for your diabetic cat (and other really), the grain-free protein one for instinct is around +25% carb.

these below are all low carb kibbles that i know of 0ff the top of my head: all pricey but, cats need to eat less so these last a lot longer than most dry foods. one 25lb bag of YA lasts us one month with 9 of our 10 cats eating it and it probably would be longer if i didn't allow them to free-feed prior to this week.

young again zero (zero carbs)
young again 50/22 (6% carbs)
evo turkey & chicken (supposably 8.41% of actual carbs)
wysong epigen 90 (5% carbs)

we haven't tried the wysong epigen 90 yet but, i ordered it (cheaper at chewy than on their site) to try since i think 5% would be perfect carb amount and the ingredients better accepted by all of our cats (our toitoise cats are still having digestive issues with YA 3mths later). you can get samples of YA kibbles if you contact them so i would recommend you start with them.
 
I will start giving the Pure Bites as treats to my diabetic cat. But as far as my other cat, Shady, who has no health issues, I want to be able to feed him dry food along with wet food. I can't afford the Young Again Zero and was also told by my vet that he does need some carbs. I am having a hard time finding carb information on the Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost dry food and the Wellness Core. I just don't know which food to buy for Shady.

How has your kitty been doing on the epigen 90 cat food? I just finished transitioning him and gave him his full morning meal of it today. Prior to today, I was mixing and his numbers were high, like in the 400's. I hope this food works because I can't bear feeding him the rx diabetic food. All it has is by-products, corn, corn gluten, soy, wheat. I have never fed him this crap before he was sick, so I refuse to start now. The thing that concerns me about this food is I don't know what is in it that maintains his glucose levels throughout the day? And there never seems to be anything new on this site. No new updates? I really need questions answered about this food.
