Good Morning/Noon everyone,

It was -27 degrees F. here this morning. We all went back to bed and hibernated. It was too cold even to raise the quilt window shades! Rusty looked for the Xmas tree water. Disappointed, he drank the water from the pots we put on the radiator (at least this is healthier!). I watched some of the women's x-c ski race in the Italian Alps. The course was 7 miles up a mountain!!! The gradient near the top was 28%. It was amazing to see. Two Norwegians took first and second, and an American came in third. Every skier collapsed at the finish line.

Wishing everyone a fine day. Stay warm! We plan to walk downtown this afternoon. First time out of the house (with the exception of filling the birdfeeders) in several days.

BRRRR!
My only ventures outside since Saturday of last weekend have also been to fill the bird feeder!
Work that juice Rusty! Let's see you in the lagoon; I hear that where all the Christmas Tree water is dumped :D:D:smuggrin::rolleyes:

Back to Rusty's old pattern of high blue - pretty low green - Ok green - mid blue. But it's too early to see what he will do on this dose (assuming that I can measure it correctly--not a given!).

Beans walked downtown to get some milk and bread. It was still pretty cold (about +8 degrees) but beautiful. Later I tried out my skis on the east lawn. Snow was deep, but the skis were great after I skied a trak a couple of times . I have 2 ski outings coming up this week and had to see how I felt on my skis. Great!

Rusty's nasal passages were bad today. We "steamed" him this morning and that helped. Tomorrow I'll try to get him to the vet for his B-12 shot and see what they say about his sinuses. Appetite is off. He had such a good start to the day, but went downhill over the course of the morning. He's slept most of the day.

Going downstairs now to hold his bowl and encourage him to eat. bbl

I wonder if he would benefit from nebulizer treatments. Maybe something to ask the vet about. He would be put in an enclosed space, then a machine that produces fine droplets would send a mist into the enclosure via a hose.

How does this differ from turning on the shower in the bathroom and creating steam/mist?

It would be a more concentrated mist, I think, while in a bathroom it would be more diffuse. There are nebulizers that can produce smaller or larger droplets of mist, and some drops can penetrate more deeply into the respiratory system. I believe there is also an option to add medication to the mist, if this were ever neeeded.
