Does anyone’s sugar baby ever have strong, sweet smelling urine? Nicky hasn’t been drinking as much water lately as he usually does; I went to change his box and I noticed where he’s been peeing that the litter was trying to clump - and I don’t use clumping litter! He’s also got right-side CHF and pleural effusions. I’m calling the vet first thing in the morning and I’ll cross post on FB in a minute. I’m freaking out here - 3 weeks ago his little sister who was CKD went to the Rainbow Bridge and I’m afraid he’s going there soon too!

Until the cat is better regulated, it's pretty normal to have very sticky sweet urine.....the kidney's can't clear all the glucose out of the bloodstream, so it "spills over" (this is the point where "renal threshold" is)

It's also a big problem especially in the summer....fruit flies are attracted to it due to the amount of sugar in the urine

He’s usually anywhere from 380 - 412, it’s the first time that I’ve noticed it and it really freaked me out
