Most of us would recommend small meals more frequently. It helps kitties who eat too fast and vomit, staves off the extreme hunger they might have and can help to keep BG more level.
Given that Goma's not yet regulated and, by the sounds of it, still showing symptoms of polyphagia (ravenous/insatiable appetite) the general recommendation is not to restrict access to food (apart from the 2 hours before each preshot test so that the test will confirm whether it's safe to give insulin). This is especially relevant if a kitty is underweight, doubly so if still losing weight due to poor regulation of blood glucose levels.

There's nothing wrong with doing this, especially if she's thin. Just take up the food 2 hours before the pre shot BG test.
It's easier for us if you give times as hours elapsed since the shot. We're in many different time zones. Am I correct that the 171 and 175 were test results at about +8 (8 hours after the previous shot)? Take away all food around 8 AM your time (+10), do the pre shot BG test and post here for advice. The general rule when you're new at this is no injection if BG is under 200. However, Goma has been very high for a while now and it would be best to give some insulin. We can make a recommendation of you post the result. It seems that you're seeing the effect of a fresh vial of ProZinc.
You are correct that the reading was + 8 but she had no food in her bowl. Fed her until 8a.m. and stopped (+10). Have now updated the spreadsheet as I located the calendar. I know the meter keeps track, but I received my own and began using and gave the loaner back to the vet a few days ago. I'm glad I also recorded on notepads and calendars. Will take reading shortly and feed her again prior to scheduled injection. Will post in a few minutes. Thank you all for being there. The time difference is a factor I know. I am trying to get these injections back to an earlier time, hence my previous questions.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I located the calendar and have updated the spreadsheet. I would have taken it from the meter but as I advised another I gave the meter back to the vet when I received my own. So the notepad and calendar were important. I did give her a shot at 10:00 pm. I think it probably has risen since I fed her from 0545 until about 8:00. Will be taking test in a couple of minutes and will post.
Update - The amps is 398 so I plan on giving regular injection of 2.00 units (correct?)
I LIKE that much improved AMPS! Yes, give the 2 u dose again. You need a bit more data now that it seems to have kicked in. We'll likely suggest an increase to 2.25 u fairly soon unless she really surprises you.
Thanks for the information. Goma is beginning to gain some weight back. Small to be sure, but finally heading in the right direction. She was at about 2.3 kg and is now 2.65 kg. Her former weight was about 5 kg.
I'm a bit surprised at this sudden change and holding onto hopes that she will begin to stabilize in this area so I can breathe normally again. When 'eyeballing' doses, decide what the 0.25 looks like to you and stick to that way of measuring it; consistency is the thing. (I found it helpful to draw a pictorial "enlargement" of where I'd positioned the plunger between the syringe markings to use as a reminder of what to aim for when measuring subsequent doses.)
Trying to deal with FD with little or no support is no joke.
