Callie had been doing so well. Good numbers and smaller doses of insulin. Yesterday I was baking Christmas cookies, leaving them on a covered rack to cool. Callie strolled into the kitchen, jumped up onto the counter and pulled down an entire rack I'd chocolate chip cookies. While they were laying on the floor, she grabbed 2 cookies and ran under the guest room bed.

So much for good numbers. Her PMPS was 203, after the cookies, her bedtime numbers +3 was 280. It should have been below 200 at that time. While I was trying to clean up the cookies, all our civies were under foot, trying to get cookies. Now I have an unhappy husband. Those were his favourites.

Oh my! Something similar happened to us yesterday. We were having kielbasa for Christmas Eve and left the pan we cooked it in unattended briefly and the next thing I know I found Akila happily licking up juices from it. Luckily it's not as sugary as cookies (that must have been scary!), but surprisingly her BG numbers this morning were extremely low (79) whereas I was expecting low 200s.

Cats can be so naughty! And smug about it, too! ;)

I must say that I am very grateful that I have cats who do not get on counters.. really, they do not, ever. I can imagine how great (<-sarcasm) it would feel to have something you just worked hard to prepare stolen by your cat.

I was surprised that Callie's AMPS this morning was 233. She has been getting 0.4u/dose. I need to try to get her Nader's down a bit. I will be home all next week so I will be increasing her dose a bit while I can test.

Our cats never got on the counter until one of our granddaughters brought home Trixie. It only took a week before my nice well behaved cats were into everything.

Our little Dixie, Joey, is a real chow hound. One day I put my sandwich on the table next to my chair, when I came back with my coffee, the sandwich was gone. I should have known better.

I only asked why the butter was crunchy. Someone else  said "Tasty". We do all have litter boxes, no?

I used to have a roommate who worked on English cars so the joke was "Why do the English drink warm beer? They have Lucas refrigerators". His boss did not think that was funny. I've had 4 minis, we had TR6, a Spitfire, a B, a Midget and a BGT in our little group of friends. Vrooom! God save the Queen.

Cynthia's family is Scottish Irish and we had a Border Collie so I have more ties to you than the wooden shoe wearing people that raised me.
Wooden shoe, wooden head, wouldn't listen! Yes, an entire economy based on Tulips. :blackeye:

Tux had projectile diarrhea this afternoon from adjusting to his new diet. So picture me chasing my cat with some tissue to wipe his bum before he sits down and spreads liquid poop everywhere, and he jumps up on the kitchen counter and... sits down.

Time to sterilize the whole thing with bleach after scrubbing it with soap and water, methinks :).

I hope Tux is feeling better. That is really hard to clean up, especially if they go on the carpet. I guess we have all had to deal with it.
