Ho Ho Ho L & L Land!!
I have been thinking about the folks here a lot this past year and just wanted to stop by to wish all of you a wonderful, beautiful Holiday Season filled with many blessings and healthy, happy furbabies!!
Some of the new people don't know me, but hopefully some of the older timers remember me and my sweetest boy Flame. On March 2nd, it will be a year already that he left this earth.
It's been a bit of a challenging year losing Mom last December and Flame in March and having my 91 year old dad to care for and a demanding job to boot... but, despite it all, I am blessed. I have a roof over my head, food on my table, a terrific son, wonderful family and great friends... AND... two new furry additions!!
I'm going to try to attach a picture, I hope I remember how to do it!! Their names are Grayson and Finnegan. Grayson is an orinch boy with white and Finn is a black and white boy. They were sitting at the shelter where I volunteer for months with no interest. Our shelter director asked me to foster them shortly after Flame passed but I wasn't ready yet... my heart was still hurting. But, after months of seeing them time and time again... still at the shelter, I started to think... maybe they're supposed to be mine.
They had a couple strikes against them... they were a bonded pair (survived on the streets together for some time) and they are both FIV+, so I knew their chances of getting adopted were not good... so I decided that they needed a good home and I needed to feel the presence of soft paw pads across my floors and purrs in my ears again. So, in July, the week after my birthday... Grayson and Finnegan came HOME!
They are young... 2 - 2 1/2 years old. Lots of energy and they keep me on my toes, but they are good boys and lots of fun. I don't think they had ever really been in a home before because everything terrified them. Grayson was terrified of the TV and ceiling fan for the longest time. Finnegan just jumped at everything. But, with loads of love and patience, they are turning into confident kitties. They still have a way to go, but they've come leaps and bounds since July!
I will ALWAYS miss my Flamie... he was my heart kitty... my soul kitty. I miss him every day.
I hope all of the L&L kitties and beans are doing well!! Sending you all my love and gratitude for being the wonderful people you are! Purrs and whisker kisses from Grayson and Finn!
