Hey guys. Ovie had a great morning. His AMPS was 97 and he surfed for the morning. Around +5 he got into my parents room (dry food is in there) my mom tells me she heard crunching but didn't think he got much. I checked him at +6 and there wasn't much of a change.

This dry food struggle as been real though with my brother and Mom.

Im wondering if his higher PMPS is related to him getting the dry food.

How long does it typically take for dry food to effect BG? And does it have a lasting effect?

Yes, it can affect the BG on th degree depends on how much he ate. How long it stays in his system also will depend on how much he ate. Typically, but again ECID, dry food takes a bit longer to impact the BG and stays in the system snbit longer than canned.

Don’t worry....if it affects him, he’ll come back down. We’ve seen cats eat all kinds of contraband here....including pizza!
 
Your mom needs a microchip feeder for Christmas! :joyful:

Sorry Ovie is sneaking food, sounds like a diabetic thing to do. He will sort himself out fast, though, no doubt. :cat:
 
My girl loves contraband. She has eaten bread, lucky charms, granola bars, cheetos, pits chips, and really anything that she can break into or swipe away from you. It takes several cycles for it to clear from her, but she eventually goes back down. It usually takes a couple of hours after eating for me to see what her BG is going to do.

Hopefully the dry food will be easier on his system than the food my girl steals. :bighug::bighug:

I'm wondering if the last three days he's been sneaking the dry stuff. Lol. Pizza? Haha that's awesome. :joyful:

What a great idea. I might. lol!

Before he was diabetic he was obsessed with dry food to the point that he pretty much lived next to his bowl. o_O

Oh my! She is like a food bandit! :joyful:

We will see what it has in store for him. I think definitely ate a good amount. He's up to 230 for his PMPS.
 
Thanks Ovie, for running the "contraband experiment", if we beans ever wondered, maybe a little dry won't hurt...well, now we know :rolleyes:, but I bet the rest of the cycle will be back to almost normal :)
