This morning AMPS 392. Ate all his food by the time I got back home. PMPS 85. Not sure what to do. Help? I can stall tonight and tomorrow morning and evening but not thursday morning.

Tested 15 minutes after PMPS, back up a bit. He's "active": wants to go out, rubbing on the computer, chomping on my toe...

Darn.....the reason we stall and don't feed is to see if the number comes up without the influence of food

Now we won't know if he comes up because the last shot is wearing off or because of the food (or how much to attribute to food or the insulin wearing off)

On your spreadsheet you say you gave 2.50s.....is that supposed to be a "skinny" 2.5?

If you did shoot, be prepared to stay up for a while until you know he's safe.

Yeah not on purpose but it was a little short so I thought I'd note it.

Well he actually earned a reduction on 12/17 when he dropped below 90 (if you're doing SLGS) so his new dose should have been 2.25

I would take the night off, recharge your battery and live to fight another day!!

Yes, you hold the dose for a week with SLGS unless the cat drops below 90, then you immediately reduce on the next shot by 0.25u.

In other news, today is the 7th anniversary of my first "adult" cat Bagha's death.

I remember why I didn't take that into account, I'd messed up the food mix and he ate almost 100% low carb on that day. But I should indeed probably have played it safe and reduced him.

Well now you'll have some good data what it looks like when you don't shoot. I learned with Asia it gets ugly fast when I don't shoot, so I avoid NS as much as possible. But some cats seem to do okay and then it's the least stressful decision to make when facing a low preshot that isn't coming up. Enjoy your sleep!

You have to remember the depot is still in play.

Also, remember we have a motto here, "Shoot low to stay low." But with you not being home during the week and being too tired to monitor tonight, it was best to skip.

Just that he is coming up, but not rapidly (so far). You will see in the morning the impact of skipping by how much he rises.

Heartbreaking, Stephanie ... losing Bagha and then Tounsi. I've been through this too many times myself and it's so very hard.

No it doesn't. It's likely he'll be higher in the morning. It's also a really good example of the depot in play. Often what you shoot one cycle really impacts the next, due to the depot. Sleep well.
