Expired prednisolone

I've heard medications often remain effective well beyond the expiration date. Do you think it might be okay to use prednisolone with an expiration date of 6-7 months ago? Thank you.

I have some that is over a year and a half. It worked fine when I had an ulcerative colitis flare. I always keep a stash just in case.
