Hi all, I am sure you have had enough from me however I still have a ton of questions and concerns to work through. Goma was pretty hyper when I brought her home from the vet on Saturday evening. I attributed that to being extremely hungry and demanding food. As many of you are aware, she had not been allowed to eat on a regular basis and the portions were pretty tiny in addition to not being given food until 3 hours after insulin after going 12 hrs or more before without food. I have been feeding her more and letting her have pretty much as much as she wanted. Initially she was really going at it (all night Saturday and Sunday) and this morning, but began to taper off. Is it actually possible to satisfy the ravenous hunger in diabetic cats? She seems more relaxed, perhaps a bit too relaxed but I am hoping this is due to being home after 2 weeks with the initial excitement wearing off and just being plain tired. Have I overdone the food ie too much too fast after what she went through?
