Anyone help???

skittles threw up and then I noticed he was shivering. I checked his BG and it’s 210, actually it should be lower because he got two units at 1 PM.( 3 hrs from now )I started him on antibiotics because he supposed to be getting his infected tooth removed within the next 10 days. I try to give them something to eat but he didn’t want anything.

Is Clavamox the antibiotic? We've had two kitties whose GI systems couldn't handle that one at all. Although pretty much any AB can be rough on the tummy. I've never seen shivering before though. Hopefully someone else has thoughts.

Glad the BG is ok for now, but of course keep an eye on it before bed since there isn't any food on board any more.

Pets may shiver or shake for many reasons—pain, fear, anxiety, nerves, or simply being too cold. There is even an endocrine disorder called Addison's disease which can cause excessive shivering as well.

Does any of these apply?

Yes it is. It did give him loose stools the last time he was on it. So this time instead of giving him 3 mL and one feeding I broke it down and gave 2ml and then gave him the rest at his next meal and that’s the meal that he threw up

I keep my house at 65-66 and my bedroom drops to around 60 at night. He usually doesn’t shiver. But he did raise the heat to 68 a little while ago. Maybe his tooth hurts.
 
He is laying on my bed sleeping and I can hear his stomach Rumbling. And he isn’t shivering like he was. I think I’m just paranoid because I finally got the money to get his tooth fixed and with my luck something else will go wrong now

Your r probably right. I don’t know why I panic when it comes to my own animals. I work in the Animal field and can handle patients and clients when they’re freaking out but I can’t do it when it comes to my own :(

Usually I freak out after things have calmed down with my children or fur babies , but tonight I did the opposite. I am just really stressed out right now and I’m still going to be watching him and now I don’t even want to give him his insulin tonight but his BG is already running high for some reason
 
The tooth infection can definitely be affecting his numbers. And if there is some pain that would drive the numbers. I would give the shot. I would be too scared of DKA.

I do great to after the event....then I do the shaking after too.

Are you giving him a probiotic, like Fortiflora? That would help with his loose stools and might help with stomach rumbling and nausea. Probiotics really help whenever my furbabies need an AB.
