hi everyone:

I just wanted to get some advice, if possible. Here is my situation
My cat marmalade has been having diahrea and been throwing up his foodwhich is only half of what he normally gets. I even tried fancy feast to entice him to eat as his appetite has decreased and he is only eating a quarter of his food only to have diarrhea or vomit/regerjutate it a little while, hour or so, later. In spite of that he seems alert. One minute he doesn’t seem Hungary and other times he wants to eat. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow.

I guess what I am wondering what would bring on a decreased appetite as well as the diarrhea and vomiting etc?

Any ideas of what maybe going on? Ketones? Hipatic lipodosis?

I think a vet visit is the right thing to do. Make sure you get his urine is tested for ketones and ask about a test for pancreatitis. The vet will probably want to do blood work but it’s wise to ask about these two things. You might also ask about anti nausea meds and an appetite stimulant.

Yes I was thinking ketones or pancreatitis too. I am so frustrated because yesterday, Thursday,I told my vet that I would be working all day today, Friday, so it would be better to do a blood draw before the weekend but they suggested to monitor him at home just to get more BG readings and data. Now the weekend is here so any blood work will probably not be in until late Monday or Tuesday and on top of that we are supposed to get snow all day tomorrow, I am in upstate New York.

The vet could still give you meds that might help in the interim.
