Yesterday's readings and topic (condo?)
Another day.
Ty seems very low again as at 1.15pm NZ time. I think blues are supposed to be OK but maybe not if one starts & ends with yellows. I think the idea is to be even.

Not many tests as I had to be away from home a few hours. Also I used this to quickly case a few places for nosh.
I found Applaws tuna and sea bream in a small township Countdown, hidden away on the top shelf, so I bought a few pouches. I know it is not an all round balanced diet but maybe it will help lessen carbs and up protein for the time being if I mix with the renal wet. I also bought a small tin of no grains fancy feast as I think this is high carb and can be useful if BG goes too low? Not sure on that but I bought it anyway. I have some chicken breasts ( I will see if he will eat a little bit of raw ) and some highly expensive venison to cook. I shall email a supplier about some other low carb/low phosphorus ready made feline foods . If I am not here for some reason , my husband needs to feel comfy to feed Ty.

Also . In big news today my husband went into the Vet practice and has manged to get hold of Ty's records /test results which will be emailed over. A bit of a man to man chat about fretting wives and the like. :D

M <--- this is my nickname not Ty's.

Ty is doom really well, don't worry about the yellow bookends, the being even part is a goal and it usually takes some time. I hope you have better luck finding foods. It can be tricky anyway, even without CKD in the mix.

What kind is it? If it's a "Classic" or "pate", it's low carb....if it's a "Gravy Lovers" it's high carb (and there are a bunch in between)
just looked. It's a Classic. Typical :woot:. I'll give that to the kitten Dusty & have husband pick up a Gravy Lovers somehow from somewhere tomorrow if he is near anywhere. lol

The Classic is actually fine to feed to Ty!! It's what a lot of us feed our sugarcats normally...it just won't help if you're trying to bring the numbers up because it's low carb

It's way too high in phos at 439 so no good for CKD & as you say too low in carbs. Fancy feast gravy is still too high in phos being well over the 200 mark but carbs 15 is better.
Silly me. I just saw it on a shelf and thought I'll grab that.

When you're using the Gravy Lovers, it's the gravy that has most of the carbs, so what I do is pop the top, put it back down and "squeeze" the gravy into another bowl (it's messy but it works)....a couple of teaspoons of the gravy is usually enough to bring them back up to a safe number.

Since you (hopefully) won't need to use it very often, I wouldn't worry about the phosphorus
