Ovie is loving this dose! Boy, you do a lot of testing...! :p ;) Understandably, though. Ovie must not have any nerve ending in his ears to be so tolerant... :D
:p:D
I do do a lot of testing. :joyful: I'm such a nervous nelly. He is super tolerant for poking. He comes running for it bc he thinks it's snack time. :cat:

I'm thinking today I can take a bit of a pokey break though. I'm starting to see where he takes this dose.:D

Eek! Stall right? He seemed to hang in the blues all day. After a 30 minutes romp around with the cat teaser toy he's at 78.

Good plan stalling, and a retest in 20-30 mins from your last test. As you likely remember, don't feed. That PMPS looks like the nadir, he might get some carryover from this morning's shot. The next test will help see what he is doing. Can you add a comment in your thread title noting you are stalling, that will help maybe get some more feedback.

Ok. Will do. I'll retest in about 10 minutes. That'll make for a 30 minute stall.

It does look like nadir. I don't know what I would do. My two cents are: he did remarkably well the last time you skipped a shot and he looks he did that baby bounce last night and has been dropping, gracefully and gradually, since then. Not sure what it would look like to shoot that. Maybe help him surf in greens, maybe too much momentum? Hopefully some more experienced eyes will chime in while you're stalling.

So, in the meantime, I found this great comment from Marje yesterday:

"Shooting a dropping number can give you a great opportunity to take advantage of carryover and overlap but it’s best to do it the first few times when you’ve got a little help or when the PS is higher than 50 or 60 because they can keep dropping even after you shoot and they eat. Then, on top of that, they onset."

Not sure how comfortable you are with this lower number, let's see what his next BG test tells you.

So he is coming back up. I shot him at an 89 last night and he dipped into the 50s and came back up after a LC snack, followed by the baby bounce.

This is a good example of "know thy cat", you've been gathering a lot of good data, Ovie's been having great cycles, and is not much of a bouncer, and it seems to me he's angling for a reducie. I shot a dropping number (green on AT2) a while back and Mav ended up just surfing the blues. I can't see Ovie doing that, based on the last couple days of your data. You'll likely still have a busy night, even with the additional stalling.

We are 97 now. So he is still on the rise. I'm going to have to stall a little longer though. My 3yr old barf cannoned in the bed. :( He's not feeling well.

Oh no!!! I hope it's a short lived thing and you get your laundry done in time to use you bed again!

Seems like Ovie is coming up respectably.

He had a sore throat going to bed. Then he woke up and puked. I'm hoping it's short lived. Grover doesn't get sick often but when he does there's normally pukey face involved.

So I'm thinking shoot?

Sorry, just came back. Poor little guy, hope he's able to sleep and no more puking. Hope you avoid whatever it is, eek!

It make take awhile to get back to your regular dose time, but glad you were able to shoot. Behave now, Ovie, mama bean has enough on the plate for one evening.

I'm sorry, I stepped away for Mav's pokie /feed. I think you know the drill, +1 and +2, see how it goes. Sorry your little guy is not feeling well, pukeys are not fun :(

And, keep the Info sheet on shooting low numbers from Marje handy, I'll try and check in on you :bighug:

He's sleeping now on the couch. Hopefully he will be able to sleep now. Stomach aches are the worst. :(

I don't mind working back to the original dose time. I hope he behaves lol, Ov is catching a nap right now . Be back at +1

Will do. Thank you so much.:bighug:

I’m sorry I missed you. I think your shot time is right at our dinner time.

It’s fine that you stalled especially considering what else you had going on. I hope your baby boy will be ok. Poor little tyke.

One thing this tells us about Ovi is that he has excellent duration but he doesn’t continue to drop much past +12. It is interesting that he goes down at +1, though. It makes me wonder if he’s getting such great duration that he’s coming up after +12 and occasionally getting a second dip at +1 after the evening shot.

I agree it’s best to get a +1 tonight so we can see if this pattern continues.

I will be getting a +1 in about 10 minutes.:cat:

Thank you Marje:bighug:

I do normally feed at PS, +1, +2,+3. I was nervous about him dropping. But that probably wouldn't happen by +3.5 right?

Well, it hasn’t (eta: he hasn’t at night but he did during the day) but I can’t guarantee that he won’t. If he does, he will just get a little extra food or you can just try the snack. This is where you get to “know thy cat”.

As soon as you respond, I’m going to head to bed since he’s up. You be ok alone?

How’s Grover?

I went with the +3 feeding. I'll check him at +3.5. I think we got this.

Grover is waking up often. His throats hurts :( I hope he's feeling a bit better in the morning.

Thank you so much for staying up with us:bighug:

You’re welcome.

One of the best things I’ve ever found for a really sore throat is Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat herbal test with echinacea. I had the worst sore throat ever last year and nothing helped until I started drinking that tea.

BTW, I saw that Ovi had a long play session at +10. Good that you are noting that to see if there is a pattern. We had a member whose cat’s BG was very sensitive to play and they always played prior to PS and it brought her PS BG down. Just a thought.

Good night...I hope you and Grover get some rest and he’s better tomorrow.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I may get some of that. He might not like it but I know I would. I'm hoping for some sleep soon. I was able to carry Grover to bed without him waking.

That is a thought. Playtime before PS. Play definitely lowers his BG.:cat:

Good night, sleep well
