After a couple of very bad hypos, midnight trips to the emergency vet and several hundred pounds later, the nightmare is over!

Luna has been confirmed as being in remission. She has lost some weight and is now a healthy weight too. So happy! Her sugars have been completely stable for almost 2 months now.

We couldn't have done it without all the amazing advice and help from this forum, I want our story to inspire other people to take more control of their cats illness, if you educate yourself properly, you can have amazing results. We are so grateful.

I understand that it is likely she will relapse in the future, but until then we are keeping her on a strict diet and giving her plenty of exercise.

We have been feeding her Nature's Menu chicken and turkey wet pouches. This particular brand is really expensive and she seems to have gone off it (not finishing meals) so I've been researching a few others and noticed Animonda Carny/Vom Feinsten, Bozita, Butchers and Miamor.
We are going to try switching her to the Animonda as it's much cheaper in the long run but also suitably low in carbs. Has anyone else tried this?

Thanks for all your help everyone, we are over the (cat) moon!

Oh my gosh!!! Look at the contentment on that face!!! Sooo adorable. Anywhhoooo, I'm in the US, so I won't be able to help with food. Definitely make sure you stay on low-carb food, which it sounds like you plan to. :)

WAHHOOOOO!!! Congratulations!!! I am soo happy for you and Luna!!

Thanks! Just realised I should have posted this in the OTJ section (didn't see it til now!) oh well. She seems to be very content these days, smiling like a cheshire cat now she doesn't keep getting pricked! :p

I bet!! I think you're perfectly fine posting here since you have your food question, but I imagine most people (like me), will have to squeee! in excitement about Luna being OTJ. So exciting !!

@SarrrUK That's great news for you and Luna... I feed my Molly Lily's Kitchen and Macs wet food, it's the lowest carb wet cat food I've found xx

My lot also like Animonda Vom Feinsten as part of a rotation of foods.
And quite a few UK kitties have been fed Bozita and Butcher's.

Do you just have one cat, or a multi-cat household to feed? (Just wondering if you're only looking for small tins...)
