I picked up his TikiCat I had left out overnight at +11 and he was already acting hungry - he may have eaten about 1/3 of it (1+ oz?).

Got purrs out of him when I was testing and fixing his breakfast.

He got a couple of rabbit FD treats at about +11.25 and he ate, on his own, a mixture of Fowl Ball, Soulistic Lamb with a drizzle of Chick Magnet gravy on top for breakfast. He ate about 3/4 of it (2-3 Tablespoons). Am hoping to get him to go back and eat the rest in a bit. And he got his usual after-shot treat of FD duck liver.

He got his pain meds @ 12a (+7.5) and 1/2 Mirtz. Mirtz was a little early but trying to align the meds.

Next up is pain meds and antibiotic at +3.5 and then nausea meds and Mirtz at +7.5 and then pain meds at +11.

Mirtz is every 12 hours
Pain meds every 8 hours
Nausea meds every 24 hours
Antibiotic every 24 hours.
 
Bowl licking is a good sign. Poor Gizmo, and you! Such a long, stressful day yesterday. Are you staying home with him today? Feel much better soon, sweet-G.

:D Going to spend it getting caught up on sleep. Really though, I hope so too.

Got his 8am meds (AB, pain and nausea) into him. Getting ready to eat a bit of breskfast snd try and catch a nap until i have to give noon Mirtz. Maybe I can work on taxes and getting his SS updated with the new labs this afternoon.

I'm not sure which sounds more exciting, updating labs on the SS or taxes? :rolleyes:

So glad to hear that he is eating well. Gosh, coordinating all those meds are a real chore, eh? It was actually a blessing that you are on vaca this week although not a fun way to spend it but less stressful than being at work worried.

Should I increase from 0.50u given his +11? He is eating on his own albeit not a lot at a time. He got appx 4oz in this AM cycle (maybe a tad more).

I see on the ss that you've shot the 0.5u He's pretty flat coming into pmps, i think holding the dose and seeing what he does with the juice is a reasonable choice, especially with the recent appy issues.
Just keep trying to get his daily calories into him.

You skipped the shot yesterday morning. Wait for the depot to fill before deciding where to go next on dose. Provided you don't see ketones. Are you testing regularly now? Best out that in the SS.

Urinalysis showed NO ketones from yesterday's sample.
No bacteria seen.
PH is high @ 7 (range 5.5-7)
Urine Microalbumin Feline Reflex
Microalbuminuria 4.2 (HIGH) (range <2.5 mg/dL)

Tomorrow @ 8am will be 3rd dose of AB (1 per day for 7 days).

How often should I test?
 
Test as long as you are worried about possible DKA, maybe once a day. Easing off if he's eating well. Even when Neko was in good numbers, I still tried to test at least once a week, more if something seemed off.
 
I’m glad he’s better. If possible, giving a food with a little more calories will also help.

So his MA test indicates he might have proteinuria. You might want to see if they still have some urine and can run a urine protein:creatinine ratio.
