Human meters will read lower than pet meters. The difference is less at low BGs and larger at high BGs. Converting from one set of readings to the other can't really be done. It's best to work with either a human or pet meter and learn the good and bad BG ranges for that meter. The key thing to remember is the "take action" number signifying BG that's getting too low: 50 on a human meter and 68 on a pet meter.
Hard to say. It could be 100 points higher on a pet meter - or not. It's best to learn to judge the human meter numbers. A BG in the 300s is high but not extremely so. If the BG readings going forward stay consistently in the 300s that's a sign that the dose might need to be increased. One BG number by itself doesn't tell the story. You need to judge it relative to the lowest BG of the cycle and compared to the range of BGs over the last few days.
