Glad the evening was uneventful and a very nice start this morning. After a BCS you'll want to give her at least 6 cycles to let the depot stabilize. I think she'll work into the 2u nicely. Safe surfing rock star!

That's for all your help yesterday, Karen! I know it's a holiday weekend and everyone is busy with friends and family, so I extra appreciate you talking me through Asia's little kerfuffle yesterday. :bighug:

:woot:Wow what a day yesterday. Hope this new dose is the magic number for Asia:D
She is such a cutie! I looked at yesterday's thread and saw that pic!!! How can anyone say "no" to that face:)

Thanks, I hope so too, paws crossed!

It was horrible! She had this betrayed "why are you denying me food when I'm so hungry?" look on her face and it's not something I've really ever done to her, felt pretty terrible about it.

This cycle is looking eerily similar to yesterday (minus the pink start/crazy drop at +2). I put a drop of honey in the RadCat chicken I just gave her. I guess as an experiment? I have not a clue what I'm doing with the feeding carbs to help the curve thing. We will see what happens! o_O

Looking good Asia! Wow, what a change - I'm so happy to see she is doing so well! :cat:
Thanks, it is such a difference, right? Got the right dose and something seemed to click with her, it's like magic! I hope it stays like this.

Awesome to see you again! How is amazing Darwin doing (besides being in remission)?

Not a bad day for Asia. It seems like the honey bumped her up to the 80s and she stayed there and went up from there. Not sure if that's a good thing, or if she would have gone down from the 64 or surfed in the 60s, but the idea is to stop them from dropping too rapidly and bouncing, right?

Elated for her 5th blue PMPS in a row...somebody pinch me! Who said you can't teach a (very) old cat new tricks? :p

Just saw your yesterday's condo. Wow! Good job, Stacy. I can imagine how confusing some of the "dance" must be, but ECID and you will discover by trial and error what works best for Asia when situations like yesterday arise. Steering with food has always been a puzzle to me. I have tried it at times, but have found with Rusty that it is less disruptive simply to feed what he is used to (like Asia, Rusty has food available all the time; unlike Asia, he is not food-motivated and has to be encouraged to eat, even when he is low--like this morning). I don't think you have to feed different foods for "snacks". Trying to keep it all straight from cycle to cycle would require a separate spreadsheet!
Congrats on the reducie. As Karen said, give Asia the proper amount of time for the depot to recalibrate.
You are doing great.

Surfing 80's is just as healing as surfing 60's, and much easier on the bean. :D
No complaints at all surfing the 80s, I just don't want to bump her up too much and have her rise at the tail end to something more yuck as a preshot number (that didn't happen today, thankfully). :)

Thanks, Ella! :)

It is confusing, every time one thing clicks, there's something else I didn't know about or see coming that hits, but I guess that's part of the deal. I am learning by trial and error, but it's hard for my personality because I like to know in advance and be prepared!

I feel the same about food, especially at her age, introducing foods she doesn't normally eat can bring on a whole host of issues I'd rather not deal with (and reading things like this food and that food have random large bone fragments and all the pet food scares don't help). I guess I'd rather have less variables in the mix food wise and if I can just use honey and her regular food to steer, I would prefer it.

Asia is not food motivated, but she eats what she likes when she likes and I don't have to do anything special to encourage her. I've never seen her food crazy like she was yesterday, it must have been her body saying "you need food, a lot of food, right now!" It was sad, but also good in that she shows some reaction to being that low. And yes, it is hard to keep straight, it's easy for me to write down at home but the SS is not very conducive to detailed notes.

Could be @Chubba @Christie & Maverick, but her +1's have usually been a tad lower than preshot when it isn't a bounce, and when she rises or drops more than 20 in an hour, I know she's playing some games. ;)

Maybe it will be an itty bitty baby blue bounce like last night, or maybe she will surprise me and not bounce at all. Casinos should have a guess what the diabetic cat will do game, they'd make a lot of money! :joyful:

:joyful: We sometimes play that game at test time. Lol. :joyful:
We do too, I poll the whole family on guess the number, I win half the time (due to having some clue about the numbers) and youngest daughter wins the other half (because she is the luckiest person I have ever met in my life: i.e. $20 bills fly into her on the street (more than once) and she finds 4 leaf clovers like they are 3 leaf clovers)! :joyful:

That's awesome! That is how it happened with Darwin too! That's so great!

He's doing GREAT! Such a new kitty after remission and his dental work - he's a little maniac again now! Haha!

So glad to hear that he's a maniac again! I bet it could be a wee bit annoying pre-diabetes, but you're loving every second of it now! ;) :cat:
