History: Yesterday (22 Nov):
AMPS 463 (wouldn't eat)
AM+7 = 115
AM+9= 164

PMPS 356
PM+2 = 454
PM+6 = 454

  • Have been giving Cerenia (Maropitant) and Ondansetron for last several days: no marked effect; gave 0.1 ml Mirtazapine last night and she ate last night and this morning - still hungry. Also still licking lips, but given I can't monitor or coax food into her and had to sleep and then go to work today, I thought eating something was necessary at this point... :confused:
  • Vet gave me script for Losec (Omeprazole) for 5 mg/day: have to get script filled
  • Have ordered Slippery Elm Bark; should arrive early next week
  • Not able to closely monitor BG or adjust food carbs yesterday, today and tomorrow: will be easier over weekend

Boy oh boy! It's interesting being away for so long during the day and coming back and seeing numbers and wondering why they're there: did she just keep going up all day, or did she do a deep dive that led to a huge bounce? My guess is that she just stayed in high numbers; I can't see her dropping enough over four hours to shoot her up to 745 for her PMPS. Red and black are clearly the colours of the day, unfortunately: and probably going to stay that way tonight. This is cycle 5 of the reduction to 0.5 Units of Levemir; the only green was the AMPS of her reduction, so I don't think that counts as it was a result of the previous night's shark diving...

I don't think she's holding this reduction well, but then again, I can't monitor her closely at night or during the day until this whole job applications/interviews period is over. So not sure whether I should increase anyway in another day or so if no progress?

I'm not looking forward to life back at work full time when I can't monitor! Yikes! I'm going to go through testaholic withdrawal, I think... Then again, there's a cat at work that hangs out by the back loading dock: maybe I could test him/her just to get my fix? :rolleyes: Darrah, behave! :woot:
 
I find it interesting that I had to use more than 10% food to keep her up in good numbers on 0.75, but when she's on 0.5, she goes to such high numbers. I wonder why? Hmmm....

Oh yeah: good news - still no ketones. :-)
 
Paws crossed this is the high before she comes down. Girlie - get OFF the trampoline!

Depending on what she does tonight, do you have time to monitor if you increase for the weekend?

I can monitor during the day, but not at night. And I can't monitor closely at all on Monday or Tuesday - day or night. Oh, it is so boring when real life comes between me and my cat! Hrmpf!

Are you trying the SEB for constipation? I'm thinking of adding it to the mix for Ming. We're still not quite there with Mirlax, pumpkin, egg yolk, and AVJ!! Maybe SEB is the secret ingredient we need:facepalm:
