Good luck with the increase. Those huge drops at night early in the cycle are likely causing those horrific bounces. Might try to get some +1, +2 & +3 in at night and feed the cycle a bit. Have you seen the post on Feeding the Curve ?

Thanks Karen, I know you mentioned feeding the curve once before, and I think Elise (tiffmaxee) did as well. I need to step up my evening game, I did try this a few nights back, but I guess this would likely need to be done a few nights in a row? I didn't last night because I wanted to see if he would clear his bounce and show me some greens. But, you are right, these bounces aren't working for us, I need to get him flatter!

I understand and it's hard to poke the cat so much at times....it use to make me sad :( It just seems he is one of those kitties that has a fast/early/hard onset and I've seen feeding the curve help. I don't have much experience with it but @Marje and Gracie and @Sienne and Gabby (GA) may be able to guide you a bit. Sometimes there is a suggestion to feed MC food to help, get them flatter even if it means a little more insulin at times.

@Doodles & Karen , I've just read the link you shared, great info! whatever I tried the other night, it wasn't anywhere near correct:rolleyes:! I had hoped just to feed at +1 and +2 then test at +3 to see if he was slowly dropping, and go from there, I see now there is much more involved. I appreciate you tagging Marje and Sienne, I would really like to try and do this correctly, so I can help Maverick improve.

Thanks, Paul...I'm trying not to look , I'd take pinks at this point :(. Hope you and Bronx are well, have you gotten into a good routine?
Well, we are back doing increases again to get him back into some blues. Was hoping to maybe get into single doses, but at 15u right now :(. Thanks for asking Christie.

I wonder if Mav would bounce less with Levemir after a couple more months on Lantus?

It can be so challenging, the quest for blues, hope Bronx can settle back down, I didn't realize he was up to 15u.

I'm going to try feeding the curve, to see if I can work through the bounces, but Levemir did cross my mind, if things don't seem to get better. We are also getting down to the last 1/3 of the Lantus, it might be petering out on us? I know...grasping at straws

Supposed to last 6mos if kept well, but who knows when it may start to peter out a bit? They do say don't switch insulin types though for at least 6mos, but that may prob be when your pen is almost done...

One thing I don't have t worry about is a pen petering out, it was only lasting 7-8 days when we were at 36u

You've got a rainbow cat! Mav is just being democrat, giving all of the colours a chance...

I am really with you and Mav and your frustration with the dives and the bounces, Christie. I know that only too well! Marje may not be able to be on much right now, but I hope Sienne jumps in to help you. Bron (of @Bron and Sheba) knows how to feed the curve as well, and she's given me some great advice. I've tagged her here in case she can offer you some advice, although I know she's got a lot on, as well.

I wish I could say I would try to help you, but I'm still trying to figure it out myself, as well!

Is it just me, or is it hard to pick Mav's typical AM and PM nadirs? I took a quick glance through the SS, but they seem to change a bit. That can be because of the bouncing, though, I know...
