Good morning!

Good news first: Osha is doing very well. She is running a bit higher since the last reduction, but occasionally gives me a green. That is good so I don't need to worry about her. She is scheduled for her dental this Wednesday.

The slightly bad news: I got lice from my classroom. It is miserable.

The really bad news: My mom fell on Thursday. She tripped over a shoe on the floor and broke her femur bone. She had surgery where they placed a rod and screws in. She will be in the hospital a few more days. Unfortunately this is a hospital by her house, so I can't visit her like I did when she fell last year at my house. They will transfer her to a rehab facility for a few days and then she will come live with me for the next several months. I am having major flashbacks to last year when I had to take care of her. Last year she fell on Oct. 30 and lived with me until the end of February. Looks like she will be with me this time through February. I am super happy she is ok and will recover, but I am also not looking forward to taking care of her again. It is so difficult in my small space and we share my bedroom. I am super overwhelmed and sad.

I miss Sébastien terribly. :(

That's all for now....teacher/parent conferences are Monday and Tuesday...fun times.

Oh my goodness. So sorry about the lice and your mom. I'm glad she is ok, but can't even imagine how difficult it would be to take care of her for several months in such a small space. I hope you are able to get the lice cleared from your house quickly and that parent teacher conferences go smoothly. :bighug::bighug:
At least Osha is behaving! Good girl, Osha! Your mama bean has a lot on her plate right now and needs you to continue being such a good kitty! :cool: Sending vines for Osha's dental.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I never got lice from my students but did get ringworm. So sorry about your mom but glad she’s ok.

Good morning Amanda,

We all know our kitties are taking lots of our juice (insulin AND energy) so it's quite a relief that Osha is in the green zone, case solved ! Your mother's case is of an other flavor.. one no one would like to have on his/her plate.. Sorry for the questionable comparaison, but your mother "invading" your private living area is almost as bad as live in your hair.. At least there is treatment for lice.. your mother eating, sleeping and all life routines close to you has no easy cure... I would crack up after a week, feeling very sad for you. Hope she will make sensational progress in her reabilitation and move to her place soon..

In the mean time seek around for positive things, like having a 24/7 pet sitter, eventual cooker for food preparation, house keeping... As soon as she's back on her legs she will more than happy to do something of her days.. someone cannot stay on park doing nothing for very long..

Didn't tough of a robotic leg ? She could run faster than an athlete with the proper settings ! There is nothing science can't so these days !

*Lices : your days are counted, prepare your coffin cause chemical is coming that is going to kill you all :blackeye::oops::nailbiting::oops::oops:

Keep on Amanda, we're all with you :bighug::facepalm::facepalm::p:p:p:bighug::facepalm::bighug::bighug::p:p:rb_icon:

Wow Amanda the trials keep on coming your way:(
I thought my life was bad:(
Lice is awful hopefully you can treat it and be done with it. Years ago we got scabies and it was awful and took forever to treat. To this day I will never use a public laundromat. We were in a logging community and had to use the public laundromat and our infant daughter got them first.
Although it is going to be difficult to care for your mother again. Thankfully you are able to. At least now having done it you are prepared;)
:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Osha you surf safe while mamma bean is busy caring for her mother.:cat:

Boy, if it's not one thing it's another! I'm sorry you're having to deal with new issues. :bighug: Glad Osha is doing well. Hope your daughter is too!

Glad to hear about Osha. But that is rough news about sharing such a small space, and caring for your mum, your kitties, and Osha, while working full time is really really hard.

Hopefully he'll be out of "stir" soon.

Hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh my goodness Amanda. Prayers for your mom and a quick recovery and no pain. How terrible. Tell her that I am praying for her. As someone who lost my mom 32 years ago, try and enjoy it as much as you can :bighug:. Do you have a patio that you can "escape" to? Maybe put a little table and chairs out there that you can get 15-30 min of quiet, alone time? I know how important that is.

Lice - OMG - I have a serious aversion to parasites. ANY PARASITE. I cannot handle them. AT.ALL. First, some you can barely see, most you cannot! Serious EEWWW factor, and they feed on YOU! A few years ago we had a serious outbreak of bedbugs here in Houston (well, all over the south). I told hubby that we would have serious issues if we got them in the house because I would not stay and we would burn the entire contents of the house - lol.

How is Sébastien doing? I hope better. It has to be hard to be separated.

Dental wishes for Osha and I am so glad she is behaving (and doing SO well)! It is really nice to see and happy that you don't have to worry about that.

I hope your parent/teacher conferences go good.

Oh Amanda! I am sorry to hear about your mom and can so relate to the taking care of her thing. It is very daunting and hopefully all your efforts will be returned to you in your time of need. ( I'm screwed as I don't have a daughter, LOL )

Lice! Not nice, ugh, hope you get rid of it very soon. I know peeps that have had it and they said it's a lot of washing towels, linens, and such. Good luck, sweetie. And hope the lice isn't annoying you during the conference time...... nothing like a teacher sitting and violently scratching their head. Vines, lots of vine.

So glad that Osha is a bright spot in your life right now!

I'm glad Osha is doing well so you don't have to worry about her. I'm sorry about the lice. So sorry to hear your mom fell. I'm glad she is wasn't hurt worse. I hope her recovery will be quick. Sending prayers.

Lots of :bighug::bighug::bighug:s heading your way, Amanda. Sounds like double whammy, but also sounds like you will be able to get a handle on all of these "challenges." Sending lots of vines for your mom to have a speedy recovery and get back into her own house. I'm sure she would want that, too. Lice, be gone! Have you considered shaving your head? :cool: That would impress your students for sure!

I hope Osha's dental will go smoothly. She is being such a good kitty, helping you through this tough period.

I am so sorry, Amanda, you really have a lot on your plate at the moment. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope the lice will go away quickly. I guess that's one thing I have never taken home from school... but I continue to be amazed that I can still get ear infections and pink eye as an adult.
