I had to take my poor baby to the vet first thing this morning. Still wasn't eating, not drinking and wasn't acting well at all. He wasn't acting like himself, all hunched up, couldn't walk well, in pain. So after 3 long exhausting hours (at a different vet by the way) and more test. They couldn't find anything out of the ordinary except for dehydration. Heart, lungs, thyroid, of course his numbers were in the 400s but everything was all good. Even checked for pancreatitis and that was negative. So we decided to do X-rays to rule out masses or blockages. The only thing they could find was he's impacted and figured it was from being dehydrated. So he was sent home cause it's the weekend and not many people would be around and I could keep a better eye on him. They have him on sub-Q fluids, gave a pain shot , b12 shot and was given some appetite stimulates along with some different caned food that should help him potty, oh and lots of CatLax. Hopefully we'll have some successes but if not I have an after hours number and need to go back in Monday morning. They did say after looking at my chart for his numbers that he was doing well and also said for him that .5/1 unit was good. It's been hell of a morning and it's killing me to see him like this. I think the pain shot has finally kicked in cause atleast he's sorta laying down and not standing all hunched up. Gotta give more sub-Q fluids later and try to get him to eat alittle cause they wanted me try to give him alittle insulin later. Wish there was something else I could do for him, he looks so pitiful.
