On the very last of the Lantus bottle and it almost seemed like there wasn't insulin in the syringe when I gave him his shot this AM. Hate to see such an increase after relatively good numbers yesterday.

Garth spent Thursday in the vet's office and will find out results of his blood test tomorrow. My dude is just so stressed and hungry at all times, he has the ability to meow for 6 hours straight. Not to mention, that he is terrorizing my cabinets. Hope the tests tell us something!

We include those so people can go back and look at the history.

What blood tests are you getting done? Hoping for good results for you. :bighug:

Flat blue can often mean an active cycle in the following one. Too bad you didn't get any tests last night after PMPS - I rather suspect he went lower last night and is now bouncing. I see Garth got down to 57 on the 16th. That would mean a reduction down to 3.75 units. Karen said the same thing on you last post - not sure why you didn't decrease. This dose has shown it can take him rather low. Safety first!

I attempted to decreased, however, to my eyes, I cannot make the distinction between 3.75 and 4U on the syringe. It all appears to look like 4U to me.

Are you using 1/2 unit marked syringes? If so, you can eyeball the difference. Maybe get a magnifying glass or a set of readers. His numbers are getting too low to safely leave him on 4.0 units and cats are sensitive to 0.25 unit changes. Another alternative is to use calipers to measure the dose. Here is a post on using calipers for dosing.
