Asia's numbers look a little more decent today (for her, so far). I'm patiently waiting to see how she does on 1 unit and thinking this bounce is on it's way out?

I think I'm going to switch to the Glucocard 01 meter once my test strips come in. I tried it out as well as the AlphaTRAK2 on the same drop of blood. AT read 396 and Glucocard read 265, wildly different numbers. I know they are calibrated differently, one for cats and dogs and the other for humans, but is it normal for the numbers to be that different from each other? Is it all pretty relative as long as you are using the same meter? Would it do that even at low numbers, like if AlphaTRAK says she is in a yellow but the human meter could read her in a neon green, I'd skip a dose of insulin using the Glucocard. Sorry if this has been addressed, I'm just confused and want to make sure I understand this before I switch.

The differences shouldnt be top far off from another that you'd have an extreme like yellow v neon green.

From my understandung, the lower the BG, the more close the meters get to one another.

There's not really much to compare the two. Just a different "action number" (the lime green threhold on the human meter is 50)

Once you switch, don't try comparing. It just doesn't work like that. Stick to one meter. The only difference is more money in your pocket.

I was going to keep the AlphaTRAK around to send my vet occasional numbers, she wasn't keen on the people meter thing. But it sounds like it's pretty relative, so that's a relief.

The protocols here are written with a human meter which is validated published data. Glad you know the difference between the calibration. You’re pocket book will also thank you. I used AT meter in the beginning too and kept it as a back up.
